I have a small head and when I saw this MIPS rated helmet 'for women' - when I could wear a youth size, I figured I'd try it. For me, the fit is great and its a lightweight unit. The skull band dials down easy to snug it on your head, to loosen it's a bit more effort, but you can just pull the helmet off. The vents are pretty good, I can feel some air move through, but for a casual rider, it works well enough. I wasn't wearing a bicycle helmet and had great reserves about the price and quality, but this was worth it, I can't get my small head inside a huge bubble looking thing. I only want to wear something sleek and more aerodynamic looking. I like the matte colors vs the glossy ones, so I will have to consider my visibility colors another way. This helmet blends in to my scheme very well and I'm hoping I did better than sacrifice with a youth helmet with little or no rating. Let's hope we never get to test it for it's purpose of protection in an accident. Yes the chin strap sits back a bit, but I don't tighten it to choke and I'm still getting a pretty good fitment - especially since I'm more concerned with not looking helmet-head, this is the best option for me. I’m so disappointed that Giro did away with dialed in sizing for their helmets because they were my favorite. I had this same model helmet from a few years ago and assumed this new one would be the same fit. Turns out my old one was women's M and this one is now “universal fit” aka one size fits all. My head is 58-59ish cm and this thing is too small despite being labeled “universal fit.” I don’t have a weirdly large head or difficult to size for other products but for some reason Giro decided women mountain bikers have only small heads. This is a very nice, quality adjustable bicycle helmet…but it is incredibly small. I could attribute the size difference to my cerebral capacity, but even my 8 year old son’s generously sized melon had to be adjusted to the maximum band size. I ended up gifting it to my son and purchasing a Giro (male? adult) helmet. For reference, I am able to wear adult sized baseball caps without incident. I asked in the Customer Questions whether there was a difference between the size of the outer shell in the unisex Giro Verse MIPS helmet vs the women’s version of the same helmet. After receiving both versions—the unisex for my husband and the women’s for myself—I thought I’d answer the question here. The women’s version does have a smaller outer shell, which makes it a better fit for me. I also love the Midnight color. After reading reviews, I was wondering if it might be too purple, but it’s a great color of…well, midnight blue. And the accent color of the strap and labeling makes it look even more ‘blue’ to me. This is the most comfortable helmet I've worn! I was nervous to buy this one because of so many mixed reviews but honestly, I don't understand a lot of them after having the helmet. It's light, functional, and attractive. All the things I wanted. The sizing was accurate. I measured my head before I purchased and it's a great fit. You can adjust it in the back. I do agree with others that it's odd not having an adjustment area on the straps around the ears but I didn't even need to adjust that area with this helmet.     • Ratchet stopped working after 6 months

I liked this helmet but when trying to tighten it the other day the ratchet was skipping and would'nt allow me to tighten it to a safe amount. Further, I can't seem to figure out how to contact the manufacturer on amazon about this issue.

The Giro Verce MIPS helmet fits well, unlike the unisex helmets that I have purchased in the past. I prefer black straps, but I'm getting used to the light blue ones. Even though it's a mtn bike helmet I mostly use it for the road because of the visor.
