Description

THE SYNTAX MIPS COMBINES A TOUCH OF EUROPEAN FLAIR WITH SLIGHTLY DEEPER COVERAGE AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE FEATURES—ALL TUCKED INTO A VERY SLIM DESIGN. The outer shell is molded from a tough polycarbonate that's fused permanently to the EPS foam liner using our In-MoId construction process to enhance durability and ventilation without excess bulk. And the fit is luxurious and secure, thanks to our highly-adjustable Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS system that allows you to customize fit/feel for great stability and long-range comfort. Another benefit is integrated MIPS which can provide an added measure of protection from rotational forces in the event of an angled impact.

  • Fits my wide head comfortably

  • Comfortable, well-fitting helmet
Color: Matte White/Silver Size: Small (51-55 cm)
I have owned Giro helmets for years and this new one continues to please. I wondered if the addition of MIPS would change the feel or fit but it doesn't for me. I recommend this helmet.

  • Actually fits my head
Color: Matte Black Size: Large (59-63 cm)
I dont like how it looks but it fits well. Not sure what headshape I have but I tried the Giro Synthe helmet in M and L size and the POC Omne Air SPIN helmet in M and L size. ALL of them were too small. When putting them on I could feel slight pressure near my temples. Once on, it wasnt too uncomfortable but I had a feeling after a while it would be more noticeable. This Giro Syntax is size L fit my head like a glove. It fit around my head instead of just on top and it felt very secure. It could definitely be lighter... the Synthe was noticeably lighter. Again, I dont like how it looks, it gives your head that mushroom look. I only plan to use this for specific events as when I ride alone I'd prefer not to wear one. It fits and I dont feel like trying more helmets. ... show more

  • Better than my SAGA
Color: Matte White/Silver Size: Medium (55-59 cm)
Apparently, there is a difference between an Adult Medium and a Women's Medium - online shopping learning curve? My first GIRO was a SAGA in a women's medium. While it fit, it always felt like it was sitting on top of my head (lol, where it's supposed to go!) what I mean is that it felt like it wasn't deep enough — like I was a character in Super Mario Brothers and had a mushroom cap on my head. The Syntax is deeper, it sits lower on my head, and is a much more comfortable fit. Plus the vent holes are such that I can place my sunglass on my helmet and not worry about them falling off. I'm pretty sure all the helmets are going to save my life, so comfort and vanity are the next most important things! ... show more

  • Nice helmet, but not for me
Color: Matte White/Silver Size: X-Large (61-65 cm)
I have a long, oval head, so I got the XL size. Fit perfectly, but the plastic MIPS strap along the sides rested where my ears meet my head. Otherwise would have been perfect. p.s. - my wife has a medium Giro Aether model and the MIPS straps are inside the sides and far above her ears.

  • Finally one that fits
Color: Matte Black/Bright Red Size: X-Large (61-65 cm)
I have a fat head and have had an excruciatingly hard time finding a helmet that fits appropriately. My Troy Lee Design MTB helmet fits but does not work for my gravel bike due to it rotating forward into my face from the very low back. Took a chance on ordering this helmet and have been very happy thus far. It is comfortable and sits on my head without feeling like a donut. The straps are also plenty long enough, which was another issue I was experiencing. The ventilation does very well and the brow of the helmet does not interfere with the sunglasses I wear while riding. Would purchase again if I needed to replace the helmet. ... show more

  • Good Bike Bang for a Buck
Color: Matte White/Silver Size: Large (59-63 cm)
This Giro Syntax MIPS helmet replaced a tired Specialized S-Works helmet. (I have a fitted-cap-sized-head of 7-3/4, which the Giro L (59-63CM) did the job nicely.) Good helmets are not cheap and the GIRO is serving my helmet needs quite well at a reasonable price. The fit of the Giro helmet is much better (for me) than the S-Works, which tended to ride high and fit high on the head. The Giro fits lower and encases the head with a more snug and secure fit, in my opinion. My only little negative is the chin snap, which requires some patient attention to clasp & unclasp - and that is "no biggie". A thumbs-up to Giro for providing a well-made and market-friendly bike helmet solution. (( I ride frequently (5 Xs weekly) and have ridden 17,675 miles in the last 10 years or 71% of the earth's circumference - and still going at age 76) ... show more
