I ordered this product to upgrade from a harbor freight one that lasted me 7 years. This one failed after 1 year and I only used it about 10 times. It would no longer turn on and I tried multiple outlets. Update: Customer service did reach out to me wanting to make this right due to the 2 year warranty. They shipped me a new one without a hassle and followed up after receiving it to make sure I was happy. 5 star customer service and the new one works perfectly. 4 star overall just because of the failure after 1 year but I'll stress they made it right!

based on the price, i came across this product after searching the big box stores and other online ecommerce sites. The price alone and ease of installation with the look is what sold me on this product. i was searching for a 3-prong reel with a sturdy casing and cord when i came across this. Upon receipt of the product, i noticed how much smaller it was than i thought, happy me! i also noticed its construction as it appeared very well made. it looked good right out of the box and was just as simple to install on the wall as i hoped, meaning i didn't want the casing of the unit to get in the way of me screwing the lag screw into the wall stud, which i had no problems with any casing interference while securing it. It came with different mounting option hardware, which i felt was great, but all i needed were two lag screws, which it came with and i was good to go. However, like i said, it comes with a couple dry wall anchors and another metal attachment if you chose to connect to the ceiling or wall with this attachments. Again, for the price, i'm buying more and I've had my mitre saw and sander connected to it at the same time with no issues of tripping the internal breaker. Great product and i'm buying more!

Bought 19 months ago, but just now using due to garage rearangement, so after installong on the wall the product would not lock in place and sucked the cord off the shop vac. which made the cord wrap around the Power pole and break the common connection, hence no power, pulled apart and trashed it... Not worth the time of researching. Unfortuantately 4th giraff tool that has failed in 24 months of less...

Wow. I've had the Giraffe electric reel for a year now - purchased in December of 2019. And it is still working as well as the day I installed it. The retractable spring is heavy duty and works even in the coldest weather. The 3 receptacle outlet is lighted and sturdy enough to run over with your car without damage. Just get this thing! You won't regret it.
