  • Astounding GPU, may have to do just a few tweaks
I Immediately saw the jump in performance, coming for a 4070 Super(Asus Dual Fan OC Edition). Im getting around 300-450fps on Fortnite(1440p) with high-max settings. 24 GB of VRAM at this market for this price is a steal. Now, the only con is the idle power consumption. Out of the box, I got 90-110w just doing nothing on the desktop, but I have found a fix. The Fix: 1. Download Custom Resolution Utility on ToastyX, and extract the files and keep the extracted folder on standby 2. Once you open it, at the top MAKE SURE you have your monitor(s) selected 3. Go down to "extension blocks" and either click on a Display ID option or whatever is there, then click detailed resolutions 4. From there you will see however many resolutions at how ever many frames appear 5. Click on the ones you use OR add if you want a lower/higher resolution or refresh rate. 6. Click on the "Blanking " Circle and make the pixel ratio AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE. The program will label it red if the "blanking" pixel count is too high. 7. CLICK OK INSTEAD OF CLOSING EVERYTHING OUT AFTER YOU'RE DONE ADJUSTING IT 8. Go back on the files extracted and run "restart64" 9. Good to go, just give it a minute or two and watch your power wattage and memory clock go down! NOTE: If your power draw is still high, you may have to lower FPS to 120-142. Trying to figure out a fix for monitors that exceed that AFTER that is done, my experience was great. VR and FPS run great too. I don't do ray tracing(nor do I really care for it) so I didn't experience those lower stutter frames people complained about. Most games are released for console anyways, the same consoles that run on AMD Architecture, so 95% of games run TOO smooth on this lol. I do have to say, THE ONLY REASON your computer may crash while converting from NVIDIA to AMD, is because some people didn't use Display Driver Uninstaller Properly(It is meant to be used in safe mode) or they didn't use it at all. Another reason is because they didn't install the drivers, AT ALL, which is why people complained about having no display in their 2nd monitor, and after I INSTALLED THE DRIVERS, I finally got video automatically to my 2nd monitor. DRIVER INSTALLS ARE COMMON IF YOU'RE SWITCHING GPU BRANDS OR NEW PC BUILDS. I highly discourage to take input from reviewers or people that have gotten this GPU, and haven't taken the proper steps for setup. ... show more

  • Best 24GB graphics card at price point for machine learning and gaming
I'm an AI enthusiast who needed a GPU with ample VRAM for machine learning development (and some gaming breaks when I need a coding reprieve!). For those unfamiliar, the GPU is the "brain" of your AI setup, where more memory means smoother training and inference. Most modern graphics cards come with only 8GB of VRAM, but in my experience, 16GB is the minimum for effective AI tasks. Currently, the highest VRAM available in consumer GPUs is 24GB—ideal but usually costly, as Nvidia’s 4090 can run several thousand dollars. I already own an Nvidia 4090, which performs excellently. However, I was intrigued by the AMD 7900 XTX, which also has 24GB of VRAM but at roughly half the price. After testing, I can confirm that, for text-based tasks, it’s almost as fast as the 4090 in both inference and training. Although I haven’t tried image generation (where I’ve heard it lags behind the 4090), this card impresses in text-based performance—especially for open-source AI models with 8 and 13B parameters. For 13B models, just be sure to reduce the context window for optimal results. As an AI developer, I don't game much, but when I do, it's usually Elden Ring on a 1080p monitor. The 7900 XTX handles max settings seamlessly, making it a great all-rounder. Overall, I highly recommend this card. It’s often available for under $1000 on sale, making it a fantastic value. Just a note: make sure you have enough space in your case because it’s a long card! ... show more

  • Insanely Amazing! Great temps, graphics at MAX, 4k easy 60+/120+ FPS
PROS: * Overall the thing is a straight beast. * Idle temps at 45-50c. Underload still dont break over 70c. I dont have any water cooling or a bunch of extra fans. Thing doesnt get hot for me. Max settings at 120+ fps hasnt been any issue. * I hear ZERO fan noise. Thing is quiet and running great! Very happy. * Easy install, connected it with the supplied 2.1 HDMI cable to my - Acer 32” 144Hz 4K Gaming Monitor 1ms AMD FreeSync Premium UHD (3840x2160) DCI-P3 90% Delta E<1 VESA HDR400 HDMI 2.1 HDMI 2.1x2, DisplayPort, USB, Speaker Nitro XV322QK VBMIIPHZX - wish this had a 2.1 display port built in, but it didnt. The card came with a display port cable 2.1 and a 2.1 HDMI. Which was very nice. * Plugged right in with my 2 8 pin connecters. No issues. Running an 850+ EVGA Gold PSU * $$$ Was able to snag this for $878. So it was a no brainer as long as it wasnt a flop. CONS: Box was a little damaged, wasnt wrapped. Looked brand new though and plugged in and ran great. Just woulda been nice if it was a little cleaner of a presentation. NEUTRAL: It is BIG, I have a big tower, FULL size. I like that for my cpu cooler is the big noctua big boy. With that said. It was STILL a snug fit into my case. BONUS: Replaced a GTX 1060 6b...so this was HUGE for me. I am slightly bottle necking atm as I need to upgrade my mobo/cpu/ram next. I am running this on an MSI z490 gaming edge with a i7-10700k OC at 4.8 with 32bg of DDR @ 3200mhz. Regardless of that I am still getting ultra setting at 4k + 60 fps - 120 fps. ... show more

  • Recommended for Upgrade, change default tuning
Even after 1.5 years after release, this GPU is crashing, and I was really hoping that a there's a software fix, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Edit: The software defaults the GPU to higher clock speeds that isn't recommended by the manufacturer, causing my games to black screen, which is annoying and took my a while to figure out ... show more

  • Nice card, good temps.
I have a Define 7 case so luckily Fractal Design just released Flex 2 vertical gpu riser with bracket. Works flawlessly, and the temps stay below 70 while gaming much better than the hellhound 7900xtx which I returned.
