I have a Giantex 4x10x2 gym mat and love doing floor exercise on it. This mat is easy and light weight to take to the gyms. I also like that it doesn’t have Velcro band on one side (for stacking and adding size purpose like my large Giantex mat). I can use both sides. The only reason I deduct one star is the foam density is not as good as my 4x10 gymnastics mat. If you don’t need a big gym mat this yoga mat size gym mat would do for stretching, pushups, and crunches. It is not suitable to be a yoga mat because the foam thickness impedes standing poses, making them unsteady and unstable. ... show more

My floors are hardwood, and regular yoga mats just aren't thick enough to protect my knees, elbows, or lower back. Thicker mats are bulky and hard to roll up and store. This one is great because it folds in thirds and tucks away against a wall. Working out on it is great, too — my only wish is that the vinyl cover were a bit thicker because I'm afraid it'll tear since my cats like to walk across it when I'm using it (because, you know, cats). I’ve purchased other mats before that has very flimsy/weak milling that could provide the necessary resistance and support to my lower back when I’m lying flat or rolling up for crunches, sit-ups or any Pilates type exercises. Excellent material. The mat was very comfortable for exercises that require you to be on your back or knees. The foam is thick enough to support, but not too thick where it is bulky. Easy to clean, too. Just wipe and put away. Great purchase!
