Firstly, this case is a loose fit. It's easy to put it on the phone, but so loose that I'm worried about the phone falling out. Additionally, the kickstand is extremely poor quality. Aside from the hinge pin being flimsy, in less than a week the magnet that holds the kickstand to the case has broken and nearly fallen out (see close-up photo). Finally, the "anti-slip hand grip" is just a joke. It's shaped well and has bumps, but the material itself feels slippery. I have been a very loyal customer of the Ghostek brand of cellphone cases for quite some time now, this being my 7th recorded purchase of the brand on Amazon, plus a couple more I have bought directly from them. Having used them for the previous Google Pixel 3a, LG G8 ThinQ and a couple of Motorola models (G8 plus, G7 power), and having loved them since day one, I hate to say that I am terribly disappointed in how this new generation design (Covert 4) has gone so wrong in comparison to the excellent products they used to produce (Covert 3). Firstly, I have to agree with other reviewers that the fit is not snug. This is a first for me since all of the previous Ghostek cases I have used have been a perfect fit. The fact that the Pixel 4a can actually move inside when the case and when you grab it, you actually feel the case gripping through the empty space between it and your phone is just annoying and does not inspire too much trust. Secondly, there is the little unnecessary kickstand that was built into this case. Once again, I have to agree that the quality is questionable. But worse than that, is that the useless contraption adds some measure to the profile of the case (though on just one side) and the thing that is outermost is the little metal leg that can pull some strings inside your pocket, scratch some surfaces (when you put it on a wooden or plastic surface, or put two cellphones on top of each other - which was not a problem with their previous good quality all silicone tpu cases), and slide easily on a glass table for example. I believe we should have the choice of having a case with a stand or without it. The only thing I would say to them, is please bring the Covert 3 back for the Pixel 4a (and of course correct the design tolerances so that it does fit the 4a correctly as it did with the 3a). You had been excellent, but this is completely unacceptable for the price being paid. Ghostek, please change my mind by doing right to us loyal customers. ... show more

I had high hopes that this case would live up to having a limited lifetime warranty. Sadly, the product is poor quality where the kickstand failed in the first day. It no longer retract, just continually sprung into the open position. Case had a good feel but the kick stand and the hassle of the warranty on the ghostek website (no way to submit a warranty claim online from what I could tell). Seems like you pay to ship it back and then decide how to fulfill the warranty. Here is the info directly from the website on the warranty, with no information on how to make a warranty claim. Warranty Form Be sure to fill out our Lifetime Exchange Warranty form within 14 days of receiving your Ghostek product. If you ever experience any issues with your Ghostek equipment and wish to make a warranty claim, this form will help confirm your original purchase and the authenticity of your product. Limited Warranty Ghostek LLC and its affiliates (“Ghostek”) warrants our products against defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from the original date of purchase of the product by a consumer (the “Warranty Period”). If a material or workmanship defect arises with regard to any Ghostek product, and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, Ghostek will (1) repair the Ghostek product using new or refurbished parts or (2) replace the Ghostek product with a new or refurbished Ghostek product. For purposes of this limited warranty, “refurbished” means a product or part that has been substantially returned to its original specifications. In the event of a defect, these are your exclusive remedies.     • Sturdy, good value, stand worthless

I like that this case is clear and does not obscure color of the phone. After several months it's a tiny bit yellow, but not a problem. It fits the phone perfectly. I can remove it, but not easily. It helps me find the fingerprint spot, and the bumps keep it secure in my hand. The couple of times my phone has tumbled, the case absorbed the shock. The only downside is almost irrelevant -- that stand is a total joke. Even if it stayed open, it's not properly placed to support the phone. But that is not why I bought the case. In my day to day use, I love this case. It's grippy in the hand, but still slides into my pocket with ease. I also love the unique look. Truthfully, this was the main reason I bought it, but was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it. It does have one annoyance though. If you are using the phone as a flashlight in the dark, the case will pick up some of the light and reflect it back at you. I would really like to see an opaque bezel around the camera and led cluster in future revisions. ... show more
