These are better than the original for my use they seal well and fit perfectly. They are comfortable but seal very well and I think far more durable than the original. The seem to resist damage from sweat and can be easily cleaned unlike the ones from Apple! I would not look any further, buy these!

Very happy with these cushions. The original Apple ear cushions felt scratchy to me almost immediately. I got these replacements which are comfortable to wear all day without any irritation. They attach just like the Apple ones. They look and feel high quality. They don't cause my ears to get hot or uncomfortable. They don't change the sound signature or affect noise cancellation. I can't comment on the durability because I haven't had them for long but they seem like they will hold up for a while. Even if I have to replace them every so often it will be worth it for the comfort.

Excellent replacement for the originals! I always struggled with my white ones getting dirty from makeup and sweat during workouts. This material feels so much better and will be way easier to clean. It has a smooth, silicone like finish but is beautifully designed. Honestly, it feels even better than the original!

My god. Seriously. Bloody amazing. Look this item is sold under the statements of some sort of “Protein” blah blah blah. I went with it because the other reviews were good. Good isn’t what these are, bl*** amazing is what they are. Total noice cancellation, super comfy. I purchased a pair for me and my son. My son is Autistic and some times he needs to shut the noice out so his original Apple covers were not cutting it anymore. His smile made me write this review. If they last 6 months they are still worth it 🤣. Butter me with brisket bread these darn things are the bomb. PS - just so you know - I received today and didn’t get some email asking for a review. I reviewed because people need to know these are great. Now one thing. They won’t be good for the gym as sweat and this surface isn’t good but video editors, music lovers or autistic kids this is perfect. Nice one - I also received some spot lights today that were a total sack of S….. so swings and roundabouts 🤣. 5 star.

A great alternative to the originals especially at the price point. It was a little misleading that the cup material is fully synthetic leather and I would have appreciated a little more of the mesh feel of the originals. If you plan to walk around or workout, these will get hot.

It was hard to be 100% confident from the pictures, so I was happy to confirm that the outer material is a textured rubberized faux leather material that does not absorb sweat. No more stinky ear cups! This is the biggest design flaw in the Apple product, and the biggest flaw in the "direct replacement" options. These are comfortable and, so far, durable. They fit well, and attach securely. If there is an improvement to the noise cancelling, it is in the better seal, but this will depend on your individual fit, so take this claim as a possibility, not a guarantee. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

These ear cushions do not breath like fabric, and even real leather has a more breathable feel. They made my ears even hotter and sweatier than the apple ear cushions.

I did NOT buy these pads to wear to the gym or to wear when actively sweating. But I do sweat in general with the Apple default pads, especially here in Southern California where it has been hot lately. So that is the primary reason I bought them, for times I might sweat. The Pros: These Airpods Max 2 cushions actually improve the sound quality because they have an even better seal than the Apple versions because of the "Protein Leather". The headphones stay sealed through a wider range of head movements than default. After they warm up a bit is when the seal is the absolute best, at which point they actually will stick to your skin just a tiny bit, improving the seal even more. That is the biggest plus, in my opinion. They seem like they will resist sweat, as well. Sweat definitely builds up on them, rather than soaks in. This is the whole point of why I chose the "Protein Leather" versions over the "Mesh Fabric" versions of these Gevo pads, so that is good. They are also very comfortable, and because they grip your skin better, I can extend the headphones to reduce the pressure on my head even more, and the pads stay put, which just makes the headphones even more comfortable for me than they were. Very comfortable headphones. Better than the Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT2 by quite a bit, despite those being 100 grams lighter. The weight of the Airpods Max 2 does not bother me to begin with, though. Price is good. Not a Pro for the pads directly, but I LOVE how Apple made the pads SO easy to replace, just held on by magnets. Genius design, and I can choose the pads best designed for any given situation. I truly love that. Even the headband is almost effortlessly replaceable. (If only the battery was easily replaceable). I am glad that 3rd party companies like Gevo stepped in and gave us high quality options to choose from, like these are. Other pads seem to have people reporting that they change the sound for the worse quite often, which is why I chose these pads over any others. But like I said above, these actually made the sound and noise cancelling even better! A pleasant surprise! I really like these pads a lot. The Cons: The very thing that makes them so good in the Pro side makes them have some cons, too. None of which are dealbreakers for me. Again, I did not buy these pads, nor these Airpods Max 2, to work out or do things that make me sweat a lot. Just keep that in mind. These pads are even hotter than the Apple default pads, and make you sweat more because they don't breathe at all. This doesn't bother me much, because that is what I bought them for. It's pretty much the whole point. I didn't want to sweat and have my sweat soak into the Apple pads. But you do have to wipe them down from time to time as the sweat pools on the pads. Not that big a deal to me. BUT, and this MIGHT be important: I did find that condensation builds up on the inside of the cans under the pads much more readily. I have heard that too much condensation has sometimes ruined the electronics inside the headphones for some people, so this is important to check from time to time. I really hope this does not become an issue. It's an Apple issue more than anything. A bit more sweat resistance would probably be worth implementing by Apple in headphones of this price. I am going to be popping the pads off regularly, both to wipe down the pads themselves, and to wipe down the inside as well, if I am actively sweating with them on at all. I think this should do the trick. Fingers crossed. Last con, I wish they were a more black color, to match the Midnight color of the Airpods Max 2. Only the very first Max headphones were Space Gray, so I am surprised Gevo has not already done this. The lighter grey with the Midnight color makes the headphones look a bit more cheap, in my opinion. Black would look more premium, and better. We will see with time: Hopefully these end up being very durable with all the sweating and wiping down that will come with them. The fake leather feels very thin, which is how that have to be, honestly. The thinness is one of the reasons they are so comfortable, and the seal is so good. But at least it doesn't feel like a surface that will start to crack, unlike other fake leathers. But that thinness does make me think they might not be the best for durability. I have no idea though, as these Airpods Max 2 are the first Airpods Max headphones I have ever owned (I absolutely LOVE THEM and how they sound!!!), and I don't know how the pads hold up, in general for these headphones. The Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT2 pads are decent. They are thicker, and some totally different kind of fake leather, and last ~2-3 years before they start cracking and peeling, and need to be replaced. But because they are thicker fake leather, the seal is finicky.... other reasons too.... but the thickness of the fake leather contributes, I feel. If these pads last around a similar period of time, I will honestly be surprised, but very happy.
