My husband and I have been looking for a better air purifier and we finally found it! As a mom with kids and pets in our home I have suffered from severe allergies and have great difficulty sleeping in the past few years. Earlier this year we tried a much less featured air purifier and did not have good results. I think it was mainly because it had a cheap filter that was not good - I don't think it filtered very much. After a lot of research we found this air purifier from GermGuardian and after just a couple of nights now I have been super pleased. My allergies have diminished and I have had several nights of great sleep now. It has a real HEPA filter and also has a UVC light to help fight germs etc which is why I have been so happy. I think this will be a really good product for my kids health as well at our house. It is a very nice looking product and is big enough to clean the air in a very large room. I am going to tell all my friends and family about this air purifier.

Taken from above, front-angle.] Have had various air cleaners ranging from small wall outlet units to several brands/styles of tower designs. This is the biggest and fanciest unit we've had. It can move serious amounts of air, or run very quietly -- we do the latter and bought it since usually large fans can move more air with less noise and better sound tones. Indeed, this is the quietest filter fan we have on low speed (it's right behind us while watching TV and I feel no need to "OCD" turn it off / never notice it) and has no weird tones to it like many of the small-fan tower designs have/develop. The air sucks in all around the nice looking front so you can set it against a wall or corner and have the "correct" side facing into the room. Air vents out the top so it sorta radiates and blends into circulation rather than blowing at you or your stuff. The controls are responsive and easy to understand at a glance, makes a pointless but soft/pleasant noise when buttons are pressed, and my favorite part is you can turn off most of the lights using an included light button. At minimum, you have a single light indicating the unit is running, and a 2nd identical light if the UV bulb is on; both are small, dim, and indirect, not casting a blue spotlight on the ceiling like a lot of cheap consumer devices. I'd probably still tape them if sleeping but most people will probably find them very livable in a bedroom. If not used in a dark space or if you want a (blue... not great for eyes in the dark) night light, it also has an attractive "ring" light that bleeds through a translucent portion of the front plastic -- looks well designed/integrated, premium. The silver/white gloss finish is attractive and unlike the vast sea of shiny black plastic products, does not show fingerprints / dust at all. Does not develop an ugly "micro-scratch" texture either. All of which is to say... It doesn't just look nice the first 5 seconds before you smudge and scratch it getting it out of the box, but still looks brand new after months of use. The filter inside is about 2/3 the size of our AC air intake (a lot of filter...) and has a pre-filter you can vacuum off to extend the life of the expensive main filter. The filter fits snugly. I don't notice much gook collecting around its seams where air leaks by -- a problem on other units we've had. After 4 months running 24/7, the UV light hasn't burned out and the main filter looks good beneath the pre-filter which gets cleaned about every 2 months. Looking at the filter now, we'll probably get a full year out of it or more. I've had towers with finicky UV lights that burn out often and will report back if that ever becomes the case with this unit. The unit is set up next to the condo of a pair of small furry pets, in a house with renovations going all the time... so it has plenty to be extracting and is doing a great job so far. Smells and dust around it are noticeably better. As with all products like this, you may want to research the "ozone" output from the UV light and decide if that's good or bad for where you're placing the unit. Overall, this is my favorite air filter/UV cleaner we have had over the years. Quiet/pleasant, nice looking/looks last, well built, and can move serious amounts of air when you want it to. Though it's wider and surprisingly thick compared to tower designs, it's a much more efficient use of space / more cleaning for the volume than the tower designs -- if you can budget it and physically fit it.

I received this air purifier today. The claim of “no ozone” is misleading. As you can see in the photo I took of the Use & Care Instructions, there is some ozone generated. It’s apparently below the legal limits but it’s still more than “none”. Whether this small amount bothers you or not, only you can decide. However, nowhere in the product information online does it say that the lamp contains mercury. In a household with children and pets there’s always a chance that a large appliance like this could be knocked over and the lamp broken. This is not a risk I am willing to take. Just an aside: someone else has mentioned that this can be put in a corner or up against the wall. It can’t. The instructions make it clear that it needs to be at least one foot away from any wall or furniture. I had plugged it in before sitting down to read the use and care instructions. It is LOUD! HEPA filters don’t work well at slow speeds so I would, if I was keeping this, always use high or medium. Both are very loud. The lowest speed is almost silent but its also hardly moving any air. I’d probably put up with the noise during the day but because of the ozone and mercury it’s going back.

Just bought this product and unboxed it, plugged it in and it did not turn on. I called customer service, no one answered. Not pleased with the product at all and would not recommend to anyone.

Terrible product. I ordered 1 and it did not turn on of course I tried multiple Outlets. Then I returned it and ordered another one and it did not turn on. Very upsetting as I ordered this for a sick child at home. I am very technical and it was not user error. I see my experience matches others that receive the same product.

This is a well made, quality unit. It does a good job of cleaning the air so far as I can tell. However, it does not eliminate smoke odor. My expectation was that I would leave the unit in a closed room, size per the unit's specification, all night and in the morning, smell no smoke odor upon entering the room. This is not the case, there is a residual odor, mild, certainly not horrible, but there nonetheless. I bought it for smoke odor more than anything else. I do have the UV on, full blast on the air flow and the room is about 10x13 well under the specs. So I run it when I am smoking my pipe or a cigar in my library, then I leave it on all night. In the morning, I turn it off and run the ozone air cleaner for 20 minutes, with the door closed and everyone out of the room. All trace gone. So on balance, be clear what you mean by odor control. It does not eliminate smoke odor.
