  • Comfortable on the belt, and well made.
Style: Black Molle Sheath
Great multi-tool. The carry case would fit horizontal on my belt which made it much easier to carry around all the time. Good Sharp Blade too. Would buy again.

  • Very Good Quality at Great Price
Style: Gray Standard Sheath
I've had the same Gerber multitool in my outdoor bag for over a decade and it's always worked flawlessly. I decided to buy this one to keep in the car and was so impressed I bought a second one of these a couple of weeks later. The quality, fit and finish are very good. This is a very solid multitool built to last. Frankly, at this price it's impressive. I've also had good experiences with Gerber's lifetime warranty. I sent my old multitool in because the blade started showing rust spots and wear after nearly a decade. They cleaned it up, sharpened it, and sent it back at no cost, no questions asked. 9 out of 10 companies would've said it was wear and tear and denied warranty work. ... show more

  • Brittle, not like before.. Brittle, not like before..
Style: Gray Standard Sheath
I am an avid fan of the Gerber tools, since I worked with Lufthansa, they issued us a multi-tool, the only time I have to buy a new pair, because I lost my old one that I've been using for 5yrs. So bought this tool September 21, 2024, it's only been a month of use, the needle nose tips broke of on me, with the same type of usage I've used my old Gerber, and then when I closed it, the Multi-tool couldn't be opened anymore, seems like the needle nose tips needs to rest on the metallic tounge inside it's channel but it overrcentered that part and not whenever I tried to open it up, it's impossible, I contacted the Gerber tools for warranty, and they haven't replied yet, it's been 2weeks.. don't waste your money anymore, Better get a leatherman instead UPDATE, AS OF NOVEMBER 28,2024 Gerber customer support reached out to me and got my replacement on the 2nd of October 2024, I wasn't sure at first that they'd reach out to me after I messaged them, but it just takes time. They replaced the my Multi-tool with the same model that I have. That's the best feature that it comes with! Thanks Gerber, will forever be a fan. ... show more

  • Great Budget Multitool For EDC Great Budget Multitool For EDC
Style: Black Molle Sheath
The Gerber Truss does fine for what I need it to do. It comes with a lot of tools and two knives. The awl's edge is pretty sharp and works well as a package opener. The phillips screwdriver has a surprisingly long reach for a multitool. The outermost tools have fingernail holes to assist in opening and with a little practice you can open them one-handed. The sheath is crap. It feels flimsy and I am not a fan of velcro closures. The snap-closure mag pouch I bought for my old multitool (an mp400) on my duty belt is just too small for this guy, so I had to buy a new one. I am a little concerned that the thicker spring-assisted plier handles might be an issue with some of the very tight confines I have needed pliers in. The plier's jaws don't open as wide either. If I had a least favorite tool from this set its definitely the wire stripper. Overall, for the price, I think this is a perfectly fine entry-level multitool. The lower price point means you can more easily replace it if it breaks, gets lost, or is stolen, and I have had all three happen with various gear at my job. If I had to pick between replacing a $60 workhorse that is good enough and I can beat the bejesus out of and not feel bad or a top-tier $180 EDC queen I'll cry over for scratching, I'll pick the workhorse every single day. ... show more

  • Quality.
Style: Gray Standard Sheath
Alright here's what you need to know. I collect these multi tools for fun, and perhaps a little pride. The Gerber truss is probably one of the best for the money that I've seen in a long time, that is if you can get a good one, it's a roll of the dice and it's across the board for all models and makes. The first one right out of the box, was perfect in every way and a delight, so I bought another one and it was a joke, the pliers misaligned, one handle sloppy the other one too firm and a number of tools collided, the Phillips screwdriver doesn't fit the screws, the file not very sharp and the locking mechanism didn't work very well on on one side, it's too loose. About the only thing worth having was the Awl. Obviously it's a return. So what are you getting with the Gerber Truss, if you get lucky and get a good one. It's for medium-duty don't push it too hard or it'll probably get bent out of shape. What I can tell you is the tool combination is one of the best, and you couldn't get me to part with my first one for anything. In conclusion my advice would be if you want it to last, it should be for display purposes only. That way it'll last you a long time, but you may have to dust it off occasionally. Like I say I collect these things, and they are for display only. Sorry if I burst your bubble. I'm not saying not to buy it, it's worth the risk. But if you get a good one, don't try it again. Update; I've had my Gerber trust for a while now, and it's needed a few adjustments as it gets broke in a little bit. So it might be worth your time to buy a good number 9 star bit. It really is for display purposes. The metal frame is made of a very hard lightly brittle spring metal plus it's quite thin, so if it gets sprung will affect every tool in the unit. Just flexing the tool will cause collisions with a number of tools. There is only one narrow bridge that connects the two pieces as one in the handle, and at the other end is a plastic cap. You probably want it loose because if you tighten it, it affects the tension on the tools and can cause collisions. Therefore it's a balancing act between the bearings and the plastic caps. Conclusion, I was very careful with mine, as I'm a mechanic. It's great to show Friends and use as a conversation piece. In that way the Gerber truss has a lot going for it. But I can assure you, if you TRY to use it AS A TOOL, EVEN ONCE IT WILL GET BENT OUT OF SHAPE, and you probably won't like what you see. So enjoy it as a novelty piece. ... show more
