Does it smell like barbecue sauce? Yes. Is that a dealbreaker? No. Is it a strange way to break into a skin care routine? You betcha. The scent goes away pretty quickly btw and my skin looks better with it so 👍

i've been using this serum every morning for a week now and there is def visible improvement in my skin's texture and tone. my skin looks brighter, feels smoother, and i feel like it just brings more life to my face. (it's hard out here in NYC during the winter!) this serum isn't greasy or oily at all - the consistency is a cross between a light moisturizer and a gel. it has a very very light, almost unnoticeable fresh scent to it which is nice. and it's a tinyyy bit sticky at first, but they mention this on their packaging and reassure you that it's just the ingredients doing their thing, which i appreciate!

This Geologie Vitamin C+E Ferulic Serum is a great choice as an everyday serum as it’s gentle and has effective ingredients for short and long term benefits. There’s no hype here- the formula is great and the claims aren’t overstated. This has my two “must have” daily staples with both Vitamin C (this formula has 5% as 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid) and hyaluronic acid (HA). Plus, this serum has additional anti-aging antioxidants Ferulic Acid, Vitamin B (Niacinamide) and Vitamin E (Tocopherol). It also has some excellent antioxidant fruit extracts with Apple, Kakadu Plum and Camu Camu, plus the calming antioxidant Turmeric Root Extract. This serum has stellar ingredients that together can repair and also prevent damage if used regularly, while no ingredients stand out as risky or irritating. This serum has no added fragrance. It smells a bit medicinal from ferulic acid, but I don’t find it unpleasant, the smell fades quickly and ferulic acid has many potential preventative benefits. My skin is mature, dry and sensitive, and this serum is soothing and causes zero irritation. Some types of Vitamin C can cause stinging, but this has stable and well tolerated 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (in the highest effective 5% concentration). This serum is gender neutral and should be good for all skin types given that it agrees with my dry and sensitive skin and should also agree with oily and acne prone skin as the ingredients are non-greasy and non-comedogenic. I’ve been using this serum on my face and neck daily (wish I used serum on my neck when younger), and it has a pleasing gel like consistency that’s lightweight, absorbs well and doesn’t make my skin sticky. I get some fast benefits, such as improved hydration, minimized fine lines and smoother skin. After a little more time, I noticed my skin looks clear, bright and healthy. I can’t address the long term benefits of this serum yet, but I’ve used Vitamin C serums many years and believe regular use of a hood C serum over time makes a huge difference in skin tone and dark spots, helps firm skin and more. Also, unlike retinol serums, this serum seems ideal for daytime use as the sun doesn’t interact poorly with Vitamin C while it’s risky with Vitamin A (but sunscreen is still important). Also, I find this serum layers well with my other skincare and makeup while delivering some fast results, such as hydration, line smoothing and brightening. This serum has proven ingredients that even skin tone, firm and more down the road if used regularly over time. Highly recommend. Love it. 5 stars. I'm probably going to be the one person that doesn't love this serum, but it's just not for me. That being said, it did make my skin soft and hydrated and my skin did seem brighter. The problem I have with it is the smell, it reminds me of this old iodine medicine that my parents put on my cuts. It's pretty strong in my opinion and that is the only problem I have with this product. I don't think they added that scent to the product but if I could get a version that has no scent, that would be awesome. Overall, it's good in all ways except smell.

This vitamin c serum has made a difference in the look of my skin and I am happy to add this to my skincare routine. I will be repurchasing once I run out. Just a little goes a long way and I like to focus on the areas around my eyes.

This vitamin c serum is packed with nice ingredients - high quality vitamin c, vitamin e, ferulic acid, and hyaluronic acid. It works well during the day, under sunscreen. The serum is on the thicker side, and kind of a hazy light yellow color. It does have a burnt sugar/clove/warm smell to it, but it reminds me of fall. (And it doesn't last) It does go on tacky, and the instructions say that's supposed to go away. I did notice it was less tacky after it absorbed/dried, but was still much tackier than I expected. This feels ok right now, in the colder months, but I'm not sure I would like this feeling in the hotter months. My skin does feel smoother after using this serum. And it provides good protection against pollution and UV damage.
