The CPS Imports Duet Size Leather Adjustable Artist Piano Bench is 28" long and 14" deep. It weighs about 32 pounds. Its height can be adjusted from 19 1/2" to 22". The artist piano bench is made of solid hard wood with heavy duty mechanism (silent micro adjustment). The cushioned top is covered with 100% premium genuine leather. The leather we use on our bench is the top quality leather you can find. It's thick and soft. Each one is hand picked by our designers to ensure the quality of the leather you expect. The seat has a deep diamond tufted seat with 13 buttons for extra comfort. There is a storage compartment under the seat. Quick and easy assembly, you just attach the legs with the wrench provided.     • Great Bench
I own an 88 key, Yamaha digital stage piano and never had a nice bench for it. I was looking for a black leather, tufted style bench that looked substantial and classy. This bench really seemed to suit my needs. It arrived very quickly and was expertly packed in what I would call a manageable sized box. The legs, which have very nice protection pads at the bottom of each one, are a glossy black and were off and wrapped in the box. I simply turned the seat part of the bench upside down and screwed the legs on. The seat itself has some weight to it, but I would not consider it heavy or burdensome. Putting the legs on took all of 3 minutes. A simple tool was included to tighten them. The bench looks even nicer in person than as pictured on Amazon and it is very well made. The comfort-level of the seat is what you would want for playing the piano - it is on the stiff side, but it should be. The leather is soft to the touch and the tufting makes it look like an expensive piece. The only two negative things worth mentioning as a potential downside to buyers is 1) The seat is not big enough for two people. My 17 year-old son, who is on the thin side, had plenty of room but not enough for another person of his size or larger to sit with him. A thin adult and a very small child might be able to sit together. 2) The depth beneath the hinged seat is all of one inch. This seemed odd. There is enough room for sheet music, but not much else. If you are looking for a bench to store all of your books of sheet music, know that very little will fit inside. Additionally, the inside of the storage bench appears to be lined with some kind of heavy paper. Once I placed my sheet music inside, you couldn't see it. This doesn't bother me, as it is on the inside of the bench and does nothing to take away from it, but in case you are picky about such things, know this in advance. If you were inclined, you could easily line it with black felt. I am hard to please and like getting a good deal, so I can say with confidence that I am very pleased with this bench and for the price, I cannot imagine finding a better deal.     • Had high expectations. This is a quality bench for a nice price.
Based on a lot of positive reviews, I had high expectations of the seller and the product. I was not disappointed.The bench arrived within the promised time frame and was exactly as described. I've had it now about a month and I'll note two very minor issues that do not change my rating. I have an area rug that runs behind the bench when the bench is not in use. When I want to play, I have to lift the bench and place it on the edge of the rug. The very first time I did so, the leg pad (for hard floors) under one of the legs came loose. I used some double-sided tape to put it back in place and that has worked so far, but I expect that to be temporary. However, the standard bench I got from Steinway did not even have leg pads, I had to do those myself anyway. Also, whenever I lift the bench I can feel the height adjuster move. It doesn't change the height, it just doesn't feel real solid. But, again, I would not even notice that if I didn't have to lift it. More storage would be nice -- it has about half the storage as the standard Boston bench. The bench is very comfortable. The leather cushion does look nice and appears to be well crafted. ... show more

    • Very comfortable without being too soft
Very comfortable without being too soft. Assembly was very easy. The bench is heavy and very stable. The height adjustment has fine threads so the motion is rather slow. I wanted it adjustable to accommodate children that would sometimes be playing my piano, but this is not frequent so a more rapid response is not a burden. Storage space is small but adequate for several music books. I use the bench to play on my own most of the time, but it's nice to have the duet size. It's large enough for two adults as long as the adults are not both extra large. Very nice appearance of lacquer frame and tufted leather top.     • Well made and very nice looking!
I ordered a duet bench bc my piano came with an adjustable bench but for only one person. As a piano teacher, I often play duets with my students or they play with another student. Up to now one person has to sit on a chair which is too low and also annoying. This will be so much better!

I purchased this for my husband because his old piano bench was old and beat up. He recently had purchased a gorgeous Yamaha Grand Piano and well, that old bench had to go!     • We love this, with hesitations
This is very sturdy and well worth the price we paid. However, be aware: 1. It is not a true "duet" bench. I would call it an oversized one person bench. 2. It is difficult to adjust the height--the knob is difficult to turn. It also has a small adjustment margin 3. It is not as "cushy" as some artist benches However, the price is MUCH lower than most artist benches, and the quality is excellent. Easy to put together! ... show more

    • Comfortable, sturdy, and so good looking!
This adjustable piano bench is really a fine value. It looks great, adjusts easily, sturdy, and much more comfortable than most piano benches I have tried. It's not plush, slightly firm, but overall comfortable. Storage is small, but I don't use that usually anyways. Just keep your favorite few books in there. For the price it's great. ... show more

    • Wonderful bench! (For one person, not a duet bench)
Very high quality, heavy and stable, beautiful leather, and incredibly comfortable - not too hard or too soft, but perfect. Easy to attach legs in 5-10 minutes even without instructions. I would give this bench 6 stars if I could. A bargain at this price! The only caveat is the fact that CPS calls this a "duet bench" when it surely is not wide enough for two adults, or even an adult and child. This is wide enough for only one person, and is misnamed, but you should know that already if you have been reading these reviews. CPS sells real duet benches that are much wider, so they know the difference. Unless you need a real duet bench, you'll love this - get one! ... show more
