  • Use OEM parts!
Tried to save a few bucks on aftermarket garbage & still had the codes. Replaced with these and have had no issues.

  • Works
Cheap one was installed and issue got worse. Installed the GM harness and it works great. I'd recommend only GM parts save money by not buying garbage.

  • This is the wire you need to fix your Knock Sensor Error codes
I've had success with the doorman version of this wire once, but then it didn't work. I bought another doorman, and more sensors, no dice. After getting the genuine wiring harness, I think I have fixed the issue. The primary thing I've noticed is that the contact wire that goes into the sensor is thicker and also doesn't seem to move. This is the main reason I think you can get the knock sensor codes to hit. If its not making good contact to the sensors from the harness, you will throw the code even if the sensors are good. I've used delphi and ac delco sensors and the doorman harness still gives you the error codes, but this harness will not. Its also more insulated. This is the redesigned version of the harness so you might not even need the RTV sealant around it (but it certainly won't hurt). As long as your sensors measure in the correct range, and you use THIS harness, I think that should solve your problems. My application was a 2003 Corvette with the LS1 base engine. ... show more

  • Genuine Replacement Part That Works
This is a genuine GM part. I had a knock sensor fail (known issue) on my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. While everything was apart, I replaced the wiring harness as well. The wiring harnesses sit in an area of high heat and by this time are almost 20 years old. As expected, the clips on the old harness broke when I removed them from the knock sensor. I was very glad to have a ready replacement. The wiring harness sits below the intake manifold which means you have to remove the intake manifold to get to it. This is not something that you want to do more than once, so replacing everything that you need to while it's apart makes sense. I much prefer the genuine GM part to the Dorman alternative. I figure the GM part lasted 20 years the first time, it'll last the remainder of the vehicle's life. While everything was accessible I also replace the oil pressure sending unit and the valley pan gasket (which was leaking). There are a lot of videos and chats out there about making this repair. It is of medium difficulty for a DIYer. It took me 8 hours to do the repair (including replacing the valve cover gaskets and all the engine and intake clean up - the top end of the engine looks new). You will need a new intake gasket as well to ensure a good seal as well as the torque specifications for the intake manifold. ... show more

  • Not the AC Delco of Old
This wiring harness was not even close to the original as far as fitting or sturdiness. The pin probe is flimsy and moves around inside of connector socket. You really have to take your time lining it up to the sensor or it will move off to the center and cause a low voltage, thus throwing a chk engine light. It's as bad as an aftermarket product. This one was made in Serbia. It works, but for all of the PITA for installing, should have gotten one from China, a lot cheaper. ... show more

  • Doesn't look like Genuine GM
Don't like the generic box with generic sticker. Doesn't have the 12601822 tag on the wires like the actual GM part would. Given the work required to access and service this part, I have returned it and sourced the "Genuine" item. See 3rd picture.
