bushings were loose and with pull out when clamp is moved. setting set screws to hard will clamp the rails and prevent sliding but possibly mar the rails. overall pretty small light weight setup. clamps seem sufficient if tightened.

Doing fine machine work with a smaller sized CNC machine or router requires me to have a vise that operates smoothly, has a secure hold, and doesn't distort out of square. This vise meets those requirements for me. It is superbly machined with steel, brass and aluminum components. The vise is in the 1st 3 Pictures. The steel shafts are strongly mounted and use brass bushings to allow smooth movement and concentricity side to side of the clamping face which has a central V groove to help hold items. The rapid turn screw has a nice knurled steel knob with holes that let me torque it down fairly tight with a rod using a shaft or dedicated rod of my own. I was happy there is no "Quick Release" button for the tightening screw which would be totally out of place and should not be on this style vise. The hold down track Barrel hex head (5mm) bolts fit precisely and have 2 styles of track lock down nuts. (Picture 4). This is very well made. I liked the quality! I suppose this may be my own idiocy, but the mount holes on this otherwise wonderful looking vice look not compatible with the 3080, until I just realized I ordered the 3080 V2, which has an aluminum bed (instead of the t-slot bed of the original). Should likely update the product description to say that it's NOT compatible with the 3080-V2.

The vise does not clamp, the acme lead screw has too little friction with the nut, so it will not maintain a clamping force.

Very impressed with this vise. It is so well made and so heavy duty. Manufactured well, can't find anything wrong with it. They did a great job making this thing. The action is nice and smooth, opens and closes very nice. Also, like the scale, though don't know how often I will use it, good that it's there. Wish the scale was in imperial, for us Americans. Not sure how or where I am going to mount it yet, but I'll find a home. Came packaged very well, in thick foam to keep it nice and safe. Did I say this thing was heavy duty? If I did not, it is! So happy with this vise, would happily recommend.
