Four stars for this router bit. We're just getting into using our CNC machine and have been using various bits and tools for different projects. The bit we're using now is this 90degree Vbit. This bit enables us to replace the blades when they become dull. Note, this ships in a thin cardboard box so we'll be getting a small plastic container to store it in. Other bits we've purchased come with a plastic container, so it's odd that this one did not. This bit comes with a tool for replacing the blade, though we haven't needed to replace the blade as of yet. This is our first replaceable blade bit and it has worked very much like the other, fixed blade bits, we have. Basically, due to the replaceable blade - you can use both sides ... The reason for this is that once the bit does become dull or have issues you can unscrew the blade and rotate it 180 degrees and have a totally new bit blade to work with. Good v bit for routing signs. Uses generic inserts readily available. I have a couple of these around that I've been using often with no trouble.

The media could not be loaded. I was impressed. I still need to dial in best feeds and speeds. For the test I used 100 IPM & 10,000 RPM . The African Mahogany (darker red) cut great with no finishing pass. It didn’t need it. I tried it on Philippine mahogany (light blond). There was a bit of tear out, but everything tears that out. It had no trouble on Walnut. I don’t have a source for the replacement blades just yet. I imagine They’re available somewhere. You’ll probably want to get that figured out before you buy this bit. Minor things; It came with a nice hex key to change the blades, but it's the wrong size. It didn't come with a case. Just foam packaging. I hope the video is not too loud. ... show more

I ordered this cutter to do some custom bead board. I was especially interested in the fact that it uses insert tooling, so it can basically be resharpened forever, and it's big enough that it will run any V-groove that I'm willing to be holding onto a hand router to machine. I'm not disappointed, the fit and finish of this bit is quite good. I'm not saying it's a Leitz, but for the cost it certainly does the job and you could even do some light production work with it without being afraid of a failure. It's wickedly sharp out of the box. I can't find anything about it I don't like, so I will say if you need a big, capable V-Grooving bit, then give this one a try. ... show more

While V Grrove is probably better with a CNC-controlled router, I still occasionally do some manual work with a trim router for some sign-making and this bit seems to work well for both. While it would be nice if it came with an extra insert since it includes a Torx bit tool, the 12mm x 12mm Square tungsten carbite inserts are relatively common and easy to course. The price isn't the lowest for comparable bits its not significantly different in price. While its not up there with the quality of say, Amana router bits, Genmitsu is at least recognized in the level of CNC equipment I'm working within, and I trust the brand well enough, especially with the growth and improvements they've made over the years. ... show more

This is a very serious router bit. But it's solid as heck and the cutting edges are seriously sharp. The one concern I have is that it's big enough and heavy enough that I'm worried about using it too much and actually wearing out a router. So I'd definitely say to be mindful of that and make sure you're putting a bit like this in the appropriate tool that can handle it accordingly! ... show more
