We were hosting a 5-piece blues band in a community garden. In addition to making sure we had enough watts, it was important to have a quiet generator. Initial setup was very easy, and it started right up. Very quiet for the size. We used a longer extension cord to set it away from the band but even up close, the generator was quiet enough.     • Great Customer Service, nice quiet generator!!!!
We had issues with our generator, so we contacted customer support. Generator just would not start one day. We used it fairly often and runs very quietly. They sent us a new starter for no charge. That didn't work, so I contacted them again. After explaining to them that my husband was a electrician and mechanic for over 30 years and could not figure out what was wrong with the unit, they indicated they would ship out a replacement. Was not the easiest to get in contact with them initially; however, after a few e-mails and about a month of going back and forth, they honored their warranty and sent us a BRAND NEW GENERATOR. They did not require us to ship back the original one. So, we will be keeping it for parts for this one if something goes wrong with the new one. ... show more

Generator worked great a few times. Then went camping the electric start was giving me issues and not able to turn over the generator. Tried to pull start it and I had a very hard time pulling it. When i did pull it the cord recoiled back so hard it rip out of my had and damaged the case. Now the generator won’t even turn over. This happened just after the 90 day warranty expired. Thankfully amazon helped me out. I wouldn’t even give this a half a star. ... show more

Shipped this and had it sitting in my unheated garage in the shipping box for 2 months until I dragged it out and set it up. Easy setup, battery fired it right up. Ran smooth. Put some load on it and it was pretty quiet. Will be a small enclosure for it this spring. More importantly, now that i have it, have not lost power. ... show more

We had some weather near zero degrees without electric power for four days in an all electric home. This unit will run what we need in an emergency. We had an electrician install a transfer panel next to our electric service panel and we can plug the generator into an outside receptacle for safe and easy use on a dozen circuits in the service panel during a power outage. We have not used this generator in an emergency yet, just enough to break it in and keep the seals lubricated. It runs surprisingly quiet for an engine this size. Servicing the oil is difficult because of congestion and the position of the oil drain hose, but it's doable. The battery compartment is cramped as well, but accessible because of the removable panels on all sides. It takes a little extra time, but is doable. I installed a jack to plug the battery tender in to keep it topped off for that day we hope will never come and we need backup power. The rope start works, just pull hard!     • Lack of customer support and repair
I recently purchased this unit for its high wattage output at a constant and 30 amp RV service. Overall the unit worked extremely well and was very quiet. However, in the recent 6 weeks, I have had issues with the generator putting out proper power until a total failure occurred over 2 weeks ago. The customer support with Genmax is not reliable and there is a lack of customer service to honor repairs or warranty issues. There are no local shops in the area that can make repairs to the unit due to parts not being readily available. So after 2 weeks, I decided to just purchase another unit and brand. I would suggest before purchasing this unit that you check with local shops to see if this is something that can be serviced as their support is not reliable. ... show more
