Purchased for certain job which never happened so the drill press was only used sparingly after purchase. We were never able to install the "RACK" on the main shaft. Your instructions don't give enough information as to how the rack is to be mounted on the shaft. We are planning for a new job where we will start to use the drill now and it would be very helpful to have the rack mounted. Cheap doesn't mean better! I looked at all the reviews and they where giving it 4.5 stars and I thought it would be a great addition to the shop instead of using the big one......Well I was wrong! Lol it works well, like everyone says until you try to move the adjustable platform up or down no matter how tight you tighten the allen screw it moves it requires two hands to move it into the position you want it. No big deal you might think till you are drilling a lot. I had to drill and tap holes in the top and the bottom of the side bar that the up and down lever would not be affected. this is something they should have done instead of the allen screw ring. I gave it 3 starts because I had to modify it. but over all it works ok for little jobs. Hope this help, ... show more

I’ve been able to use this press on a few of the small projects that I do regularly and it did the job well. The gear and handle used to raise and lower the table could be a little better designed and operation smoother; it’s fairly notchy but otherwise the unit works well.

Not a bad drill press for the price. If you're looking for a drill press with a 5/8ths inch chuck. Might have been better off with the harbor freight 10inch. Had quite a vibration after assembling. Went through the whole press tightening very bolt and screw. Just about every one was loose including the spindle pulley. After tightening everything it ran quiet and a lot less vibration. Seems to have OK power. Don't like the plastic pulley cover. ... show more

However ot ranked 3 in a 2018 best DP review and recommended for anyone wanting a shop quality DP that will last if properly cared for (you must clean out the motot assembly and perform regular maintenance on any DP or shop machines). ... show more

    • Pretty decent.... I like it
The drill is easy to assemble, it’s impressive when all together, it turns on easily, not too noisy, it’s acually quiet when you run it with a properly adjusted belt, and it looks cool. It seems to have a bit of a wobble when I run it at high speeds. Not sure how to run it at high speeds without the wobble. So I run it at lower speeds to do the job, as I dont use it all the time. The light could use a little adjusting but oh well, it’s still super cool. ... show more
