It can be used as a clip-on fan or as a table-top fan. To use as a table-top fan, simply loosen the butterfly screw on the fan head, then attach the base to the fan head ad tighten the butterfly screw. To use as a clip-on fan, loosen the butterfly screw on the fan head, then attach the clip to the fan head ad tighten the butterfly screw. The clip can accommodate a 1.06 inch to 1.65 inch thick structure. The fan has two quiet energy efficient speeds. The fan head can be adjusted to all angles making it so much more convenient to use. This fan has been ETL listed and employs overload safety protection with a fuse in the built-in power plug.

Despite cleaning, and a little WD-40, the fan has begun to provide less effective air flow. This fan may be little, but she's mighty! I am a full-time RV resident. Since birth, I've had a fan in my room. My dad was a firm believer in air flow. Before moving into my RV, I had a full size stand fan complete with remote. That fan started life inside my RV, but had to sit in the doorway between my bedroom and bathroom. Not very practical for a 70 year old woman with a weak bladder! Many nights that fan found itself torn from its stand as I battled my way past it into my bathroom. I knew there had to be a better and dryer way!! Then one night as I was exploring possible new alternatives, I found this little fan. Since it could be used as a clip on or a table top stand fan, I bought it. Because space is at a premium in an RV, and I live in snow country, I have clothesline that criss-crosses above my bed to hang my winter laundry. The first night with this little gem, I clipped it to the closest line to my pillow and turned the fan on low. Seconds later, I reached up and flipped the switch to the other available speed which is high. I slept like a cool cumber until my bladder awakened me. I rose, ready to do battle with The Black Knight standings sentry duty between my bedroom and bathroom. But, alas, the doorway was clear so I effortlessly glided from bedroom to bathroom, and back to my bed victorious and thankful for my little but mighty fan clipped to the clothesline above my bed. And, during hot summer days when my A/C struggles, I clip my fan to the table under my TV, mounted on a folding wall mount. The fan just barely peeks under the TV keeping me cool and augments my A/C. This fan can be manually adjusted side to side and up or down. It does not oscillate automatically. It has two speeds, low and high. The grill easily removes for cleaning, however, since there are two cats that graciously allow me to live with them, the fan needs frequent cleaning. It's easier for me to leave the front grill off. I do not recommend this as I have occasionally forgot the grill was off and put my fingers in the moving blades. Because the blades are plastic and the motor small, the blades quickly stopped rotating without harm to my fingers. But still, I do not advocate removing the protective front grill except for cleaning purposes. Buy her, you'll love the convenience, quiet operation and will appreciate her surprising strength hidden in such a small body. ... show more

I bought this little fan specifically to use at my desk while gaming. Initially I was looking into getting a cooling mat for my laptop, but after realizing that cooling mats can potentially blow dust directly into the vents, causing more ventilation problems than cooling down the system, I decided to stick to the laptop stand that I was already using, and purchase a fan to help push the hot air away from under the gaming laptop while it sits elevated on the stand. Hence creating a cool temperature below and around the machine. It's been about 2 weeks since I've started using the fan for this intended purpose, and it’s been working like an absolute charm! To the touch, my laptop stays at a constant cool room temperature while gaming for hours. For further elaboration on how I've set it up, I've set the fan about 2 feet away from my laptop, and purposefully on the left because the laptop's heat vent is situated on the right. I did this to avoid the fan from blowing directly into that vent, otherwise it will only push the hot air back into the laptop, and cause stress to the internal fan. Back to focusing on the performance of this little fan, it was definitely worth the purchase. The white noise it produces (on both speed levels) is very quiet. I use Discord on "auto voice" setting and my mic never picks it up, even from the fan only being 2 feet away from where I'm sitting. My friends never hear it while I'm talking either, though I use noise canceling, so that helps too. As for the power of the speeds, it's surprisingly good, and the air coverage is wide for such a small fan. Using it at a desk, you definitely won't have any problems keeping cool. It's an absolute joy using this fan, as not only does it keep my machine cool while gaming, but me too. That also means no sweaty palms, and no greasy/hot keyboard or mouse either.
