  • They put a car engine in this thing!
Style: 8000-Watt + Electric Start + EFI
I love this generac generator, it puts out a lot of power, it's easy to start, it's fuel injected so it runs smoother and more reliably, but there are some cons to this generator and they go as follows: Pros: Lots of power, easy to start using a key ignition, it's fuel injected so it's definitely more fuel efficient than a traditional carbureted generator, it puts out clean power compared directly to the carbureted model that's similar, it responds to power demand quickly and smoothly. Cons: it's really loud same noise output as a carbureted model, it weighs 260 Lbs dry, 300 Lbs with a full fuel tank so you won't be loading and unloading this generator by yourself. Overall it's what I would expect from a large generator ***Update 3/9/23*** The generator is continuing to operate absolutely flawlessly, I have owned this generator for about a year now, I have not experienced this " parasitic electric draw during storage" or " failure to start" or have other electrical starting issues. Mine came with a perfect battery right out of the gate, and I follow the storage and maintenance instructions, I'm noticing that a lot of the negative reviews about the generator not wanting to start, are because they are not reading the owner's manual which tells you that if you're going to store this generator for longer than a few days without running it then you should keep the electric battery charger plugged into the front of the generator to both maintain the battery and the electrical systems of the generator. It includes a charger for this purpose. Anyway, I have experienced absolutely zero issues with this generator, it's on running hour 935. ***UPDATE7/11/23*** Running hour 1597.6, still no problems, replaced the spark plug for the first time, this wasn't necessary, as the plug was still good, but an ounce of preventative maintenance is worth a pound of longevity. Left the generator off the battery maintainer for over 3 months while it was in storage, and when I pulled it out, and gassed it up, with a couple of primes to get the gas flowing, it started right up. Generac must have made some defective units as I still have yet to experience this parasitic electrical draw that others describe, these must be older units, as the reviews are older, so I think Generac fixed the issue with the current model. Go Generac, Thanks for the workhorse powerhouse! ***UPDATE 12/3/23*** I haven't had to use this generator for my company much, and my bud who's off gridding, just had his generator quit, so I let him barrow this machine, and with making him provide receipts to prove maintenance of my unit like oil changes, filter cleanings, and occasional fuel injector cleaning like Gumm-out added to the tank, he just purchased a much larger generator for his tiny home, and gave this unit back to me. He used this as his main power source for almost 6 months while he saved up to purchase a new unit and batteries and solar panels. It has well over 6000 hours on it now, AND IT STILL STARTS AND OPERATES LIKE NEW. GENERAC PUT A MINI CAR ENGINE IN THIS THING. My bud told me just how reliable this thing was for him and told me he is now forever sold on Generac! Like I said before about maintenance and following the owners manual, and an ounce of preventative maintenance is worth a pound of longevity, but also Generac for making a generator so powerful and also so reliable and so well built, it handled the Arizona summer (in the middle of the desert) like a beast. If you need a generator for your Constuction site, or you use a generator often for your work or recreation, or if your an off-gridder and need that absolute can-not-fail-you generator that puts your mind at ease to own and operate, buy this one. @8KW it's enough to do just about anything. I still can't say this enough. THANK YOU! ... show more

  • GP8000E is Fantastic
Style: 8000-Watt + COsense
We purchased the GP8000E last Prime Day and saved a few bucks. It's been a fantastic investment (our electricity is out now and I'm leaving this review while being powered by the generator). It's easy to start - via the push start (keep the battery charged) or pull start. We paired ours with an interlock kit and it's been SO nice being able to pick and choose which breakers we want powered. The only cons are that it's quite loud and moving this tank around is a little tricky on these dinky plastic wheels. ... show more

  • solid, reliable, inexpensive
Style: 8000-Watt + COsense
Use it as a stand-alone, off-grid back-up power. Bad: Doesn't have a spin-on oil filter. It's noisy. Some of the parts, like the choke lever, are plastic. Good: Inexpensive. Powerful. Reliable. Wife loves the ease of starting it. - We did have to disable the CO sensor, which wasn't hard to do.

  • Works great!
Style: 8000-Watt + Electric Start + EFI
We were a little hesitant to buy this particular generator because it had so few reviews compared to other generators, but we are happy we did. We hooked it up to our house and tested it, and it works great! Plenty of electricity to power our home if the power goes out. The only downside is that the battery it comes with doesn't seem to supply enough power to use the electric start. We even charged the battery for 12 hours and tried it again, but it still wouldn't start using the electric start. However, it has started with the pull-start fairly quickly each time I've tried it. So other than the battery, we are quite happy with this generator. ... show more

  • Generac generator not starting at all when received
Style: 8000-Watt + Electric Start + EFI
Generac generator came without leg mounting and fuel pump, also battery was not working. I spend my time and money to fix these problems. For new item to buy it is to much. Service department representative told me that it not first time people have the same problems. My suggestions not to buy any Generac generators, because company not providing necessary quality control to their products. Do not buy Generac products. ... show more

  • Second 7500 Watt Portable Generator
Style: 7500-Watt + Dual Fuel + COsense
I purchased a Cat RP7500E 2-years ago. It came damaged in shipping, took 3-months to get repaired. Cat customer service couldn't find anyone who could fix it. I finally found someone 2hrs away through my local Caterpillar dealer. A year later, the float stuck open and drained the fuel tank into the crankcase. (No petcock) Luckily I caught it in time and fixed it (installed a petcock, new carb and flushed the crankcase) . This time I purchased the Generac Powerrush GP7500E from Amazon. It came on time, well packed and undamaged. "Assembly" was minor and simple, it even came with it's own tool kit. I filled it with the provided oil, put Gas in the tank and it fired right up and ran like a top for 4-hours. (Test run) The build quality is far superior to my Cat. It HAS a petcock so I can run the fuel out of carburetor before I shut it off. It comes Propane ready. And it's noticeably quieter than my Cat. Oh yeah... and 2-years later it was $200.00 cheaper than my Cat. Pick your wattage needs and get a Generac Powerrush! ... show more

  • Good generator!
Style: 8000-Watt + COsense
Cranks easily; Portability is acceptable for such a heavy instrument. Runs really well and generates power as advertised. instruction manual is poor - print is too small and figures are not adequate
