After the first pumping I’m not impressed, shuts down way to often, it will run for about 1/2 a tank of gas, bogs down easier than a lawn mower going thru wet grass. It doesn’t take much of a kink in the hose to make the engine shut down. The instructions are a joke, they don’t bother to provide specific instructions for this small model, they’re close but it’s obvious there meant for the larger model, some of the switches they reference don’t exist on this model such as a on/off switch, there’s a “stop” button but it looks nothing like the picture of the on/off switch. If you get the hose accessory kit beware that the plastic end fittings are awful. The one they installed was cracked a the box was littered with small broken pieces. Contacted customer service and 2 days later still no response. The good is when its running and you don’t have a slight kink in the hose it does a decent job of pumping water.

O.k. so if you need a portable pump first know they all come with cheap unusable plastic fittings for the hose and intake hook up. Those fittings are total junk. You can't get them to seal so pump will keep sucking air and will not have any "lift" from your water source. On my 2nd. pump (replacement after running 1 day) I couldn't even get to it to pump at all. The pump kept shooting the output fitting off the pump and spraying water everywhere. You literally could not tighten them down as they just just strip away from the pump when they start getting tight. As an interesting side note I also purchased the $420 "what I thought was name brand" pump and guess what it came with the same cheap unusable fittings. This pump is the cheap china engine (says so on the pump) with a , generac sticker on it. I could get my name on this pump if I bought 100 of them straight from China from the manufacturer for $100 each so there you go. I was considering a generac whole home generator but NOT NOW if they are just smacking their name on a China piece of junk... WOW what have companies turned into to make more money....... All things said for the price this may be a descent pump with proper metal fittings so plan on spending another 30-40 bucks on those because you will have to on any of the pumps I see on Amazon. WHAT A SHAME!!!

The pump were great until blew a hole in the side of the impeller housing. We were pumping clearwater and the pump blew apart called Generac they could give to blank blank’s about helping you or customer service I would never buy one of these crappy pumps ever again. Spend a little more and buy a Honda.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. If I lowered the water head to just about 5 feet of lift, the pump would achieve 11 gallons a minute. With the fill tube lower than the pump, it struggled to pump at all. Wouldn't run over 3/4 throttle. All fittings leaked. I was very excited to try this pump, and returned it within 2 days. We would finally get it pumping "better" and it would randomly shut off every 3-10 minutes.. I'm sure for some light duty jobs this Is an ok machine. It starts easy. Runs quiet. Light weight. There are some benefits... but from my experience not worth the money, and generac should really consider the quality of this item before putting their name on it..

After an initial mix-up of the model ordered, requiring a return of the incorrect pump (at no cost to me) and shipment of the correct item, the pump arrived, well-packed and promptly. After connecting and servicing it according to the instructions, it fired up with no problem. It works exactly as it should. The pump and motor appear well-made and sturdy and the item came with all of the proper hoses and connections. I've used it to pump out an excavation prior to sealing for use as a pond. The water was muddy, with small stones and bits of debris, which the pump handled with no problem. Fuel consumption appears to be good and I and my crew are well-satisfied. A good buy. Recommended.

Performing well for the price. The engine does miss a beat every couple of minutes and stopped once unexpectedly the first day but not since and I am using it daily. I am drawing from a pond to irrigate grass surrounding the pond. It has been said this is not for use with sprinklers but I am running 3 Melnor XT4000 Sprinklers using a total of 250 feet of 5/8" hose at only half throttle. The info in the box states a total head of 100 feet which means the pump must produce at least 45 PSI at the pump outlet. It is so much quieter than an electric pump run by a generator. UPDATE: This is the pumps second year. Works great when it runs but it just won't keep running. Sometimes it stumbles before it quits and other times it just shuts off. It can do this 4-5 times an hour. Hard to believe Generac refuses to address this problem. UPDATE: Now I find out there is absolutely no parts support for this pump. No OEM or after market parts available at all.

The pump worked great the first 3 times I used it. It was strong enough to pull water a considerable distance. After sitting about 1 week I was unable to pull start the pump. It was seized up. I then took it apart to free up the rope...as I attempted to start the pump gas started pouring through a gasket near the choke.

Bottom line up front: after a long time on phone with customer service, got the pump working. However, even customer service guys were initially unable to find the correct operating instructions for the model pump I received. The enclosed owners manual had no relationship to the actual pump vis a vis how to start and operate. None of the switches/buttons in the owners manual matched what was actually there. I have to question how there could be such a disconnect between the product I received and the enclosed manual. Did I receive a very old or discontinued model?
