Overall I liked the warmth and feel of this coat - it was indeed windproof and warm and did the trick for the most part. TWO problems though: 1. the Velcro at the base of the hood didn't fasten so I could never keep my hood up or tight so the hood was essentially useless. 2. the material that the black exterior of the coat is made from is EXTREMELY thin and easily tearable. It's for all intents and purposes worthless. I remember picking my coat up one of the first days I had it and it caught on the side of the chair and the sleeve tore a big gash which I had to just duct tape shut. Yeah that looked great. Then - after about 6 months - I was putting the coat on and it just tore down the back from top to bottom - like the material was rotten and old and fragile as paper. Overall - just a worthless coat for the money only in that it's shoddily made and has no longevity. I only wore it to work too - I can't imagine anyone would ski or camp or snowboard or something with it and expect it to last more than a few days. ... show more

Really like this jacket especially considering the price. It is warm - Got it last week, just in time for -5 below wind chill NY weather. With only a light cotton shirt under it, I was surprisingly comfortable for a time. Layering up with a fleece underneath and was good for the day, which only got to a high of about 20. Regarding layering up - I got a large at first, based on the sizing measurements on the product page. While it did fit, there was no room for anything but a shirt underneath. Also found the armpit area a bit snug. Returned that for an XL, which is not excessively loose, but does allow a fleece or something underneath, so, perfect for me (6'1", 188lbs). As others have mentioned - the hood is quite big. If you believe two heads are better than one, you can fit them both in this hood. Drawstrings can snug it down OK though. Can't speak to longevity, only been a week - we'll see... Edit 1/29/22 - Just wore this jacket out in bomb cyclone Kenan here in NY. Minus 3 to minus 5 wind chill. Had a thin thermal shirt under a light fleece, and this jacket on top... for two hours of snowblowing. Excellent! Warm, waterproof, comfortable. ... show more

Overall the feel of the coat is better than a similar one I ordered that was being sold under the Wantdo label - heavier, outer fabric more substantial. It's the green I wanted for my son, but the gray trim color is way lighter than the Amazon pictures show. So, not sure whether I'll need to return this one too and try yet again or whether I'll stick with this light gray version for this season. Also, I was thinking about buying the black and gray one for myself, but again, too light! At this price, they can be "one and done" jackets, but I'd rather buy something that will get us through a couple of seasons and I'm just not sure how satisfied I'd be with the light gray. Would have been great if the gray would have been darker like the Amazon pictures showed. ... show more

This is from China. It comes in a plastic bag much like bedding does. A 12"X 5" x 12" bag. When I saw how small the bag was I thought "How heavy duty can this be?" It isn't, not to mention the horrendous wrinkles you'll have when you finally wrestle it out of it's bag. The coat itself looks O.K. There are odd things about it. The smell is one. There is also some type of wierd liner in the coat and the liner likes to extend past the sleeves of the coat itself and I find that irritating. I have to keep tucking it back in. There are no inner pockets at all and the two pockets o the outside of the coat are shallow. You will lose things out of these pockets. The coat itself does not seem heavy at all so I'm thinking it will not be all that warm when I need it to be. The coat fit fine in the shoulders and arms but it is shorter than a winter coat should be. I am 6'2" and it doesn't cover my crotch which will make this not pleasant for shoveling snow. I have never had such a short winter coat. I should have just gone to WalMart and looked at coats there. The last cheap winter coat I bought there lasted 12 years and was wonderful. This one. Not so much. I would return this but can't get it back in it's bag. You're pretty much done when you get it out so beware. Not at all a great coat. ... show more
