This radio is nice and compact and I love it's simplicity. I can manually tune in what I want and skip all the extra nonsense. The internal speaker sounds terrible but I connect it to my JBL charge and it sounds excellent. I'd say I'm intermediate to advanced at soldering having built many racing drones. Mine didn't turn on at first. I had to redo a few joints at a higher temperature. I started at 500 and went up to 650 but quicker. You can see the one chip under the magnifying glass is quite small. If you're brand new to soldering I recommend getting some flux rosin and a fan to suck away the fumes.

I guess the project will be ok, however, having never soldered i was hoping there would be some instructions instead they want you to scan this deal. Don't know how! I'm old and don't want to know how to scan. Kind of dissapointed. Might have the grand kids do it when they come over. Until then this sucks.....

I was worried about the small chips you need to solder on, but once I got the hang of it, it wasnt too bad. I had a moment I thought I may have broken it, but I just had to go over the solder points of some of the componenets and everything worked out well. Overall an easy enough project. I enjoyed building it.

Nice kit, but ,and would have gave it 5 stars if i would not have had to scan a useless QR code and emailed it to my self to download it on my pc ,they could have just as easily listed a web site to down load the info from , not everyone has a way to scan and or has a way to do that .just another app to install and delete for no reason !!

this was a really fun build, they have detailed instructions and the pcb is well marked. there are a couple of surface mount components here but i didn’t have an issue. the finished product looks nice but the speaker leaves something to be desired. that’s ok though.
