    • Great tool
The tool is great, it hasent failed me yet. Great build quality, I use it on all types of heavy equipment. The jaws on it are machined and not just cast so they are sharp and really grip the filter well.

I'm a reasonable size guy at 250lb. I could not get the filters to budge on the ol bus I bought. Like they were a part of the engine block. I was skeptical but gave these a shot. (I have trusted the GearWrench Brand for YEARS) Almost at a hernia and several attempts both filters finally broke free. After the amount of stress I put on these pliers I'm extremely surprised they held up. The filters are pretty mangled but the pliers look new and I'm exhausted. They are excellent! ... show more

For some reason oil filters love to glue themselves to my F150. This has been the only tool that has been able to tear the filters off every time.

    • Honestly I’m not impressed
These seem like decent quality, but don’t look or feel like gearwrench quality. They look like some generic apex tool group pliers they’re just calling gearwrench. There’s no logo, and the hardware holding the two pieces together looks cheap and was barely hand tight out of the box, the handles overlapped when I squeezed them before I tightened the hardware, and the bolt isn’t staked either so this will be a regular problem. Maybe I’m spoiled by the knipex pouch button adjust, but this hardware is something I’d expect from dollar store pliers. ... show more
