  • Excellent set of stud removers
I should have purchased a set of these a long time ago, but I never did think about it until I needed them. Then I always ended up using doubled-up nuts to remove the stud. Knowing I had a task coming up soon where having a set of these would help immensely, I decided to finally purchase a set. I'm glad I did! These do their cam lock on the non-threaded parts of studs perfectly and grip like there's no tomorrow. They'll also work on threaded studs and are fairly nice to the threads, owing to a large cam area of contact. Installation is as easy as removal on all the studs I worked with. ... show more

  • Affordable yet quality
Bought this off a recommendation from a YouTube engine rebuild video (for my impending engine rebuild). While I haven't used it yet, it should make the process of removing studs from the side of my block much easier when I go to swap engines.

  • Works, but ruins the stud threads
Worked great on some very stuck differential studs on my 2007 Tundra. Unfortunately the tool completely destroyed the threads on the studs during removal. I highly recommend buying and using new studs instead of trying to re-thread any studs you remove. Having to buy new studs delayed my project by a few days while I waited for new ones from Toyota. Also, ensure you keep good pressure on the tool or it can slip and make the stud even harder to remove. I busted my knuckles pretty good when this thing slipped. Either way, it got the job done, but it wasn’t pretty. ... show more

  • Definitely Handy & Easy to Fix
Definitely came in handy not only when removing studs from an exhaust manifold but installing new hardware as well (Especially because I wasn’t sure on size yet and inevitably said YOLO) Noticed prior to buying a review mentioned item broke into pieces. Happened to me as well but I was also using the wrong size. Correct size obviously fits/works better and doesn’t break (10mm perfectly fits a M10x1.50 stud and not the 7/16”, who would’ve thought). Broken component was easy enough to fix. 1. Removed retaining/snap ring. 2. Remove washer. 3. Remove Needles/Rollers. 4. Used a similar size bolt/rod to realign the inner “crowned” tube. 5. Reassemble Overall, buy once - cry once. Worth buying to keep in your tool arsonal. ... show more

  • AVOID - Junk Quality Tools Damages Stud Threads!
Meh, one of the sockets broke before I got to use it. The tooth just fell out and the others worked meh. Would not recommend as this seems to be junk quality. As the other "non broken" ones didnt quite work well and flattened some of the treads on the studs I as working with. One would think that a "stud removal tool" would not damage the studs and actually work. This tool does neither. It seems like their return policy is super short, wonder why /s. I would just avoid these altogether and get something that has a real return policy for non junk quality tools. ... show more
