I was looking for a good quality ratchet and socket set to replace and fix a couple of things on my car with, and to have for other jobs around the house, such as fixing bikes for my family and other odd jobs. It took me a good month before I finally settled on this set. Once the set arrived and I opened it, I was surprised to see how much this set included. Way more than I expected and actually more then I ever needed, but for the price to quality ratio, I don’t think you can beat it. Now, Im no professional mechanic, nor am I a handyman, but I do know my way around a set of tools, and know how to use them well. With that said, I would definitely recommend this set for more of a car mechanic or a handyman that uses tools all of the time. If your like me though, and don’t use tools very often, then this set can be a little overkill. If your also like me and want to make sure you have the right tool for the job when you need it, and want to make sure you have a quality set, I would definitely recommend this set. The only thing I would say that I probably will never use in this set, is the bigger 1/2” ratchet and sockets. I probably would have been good with the set that comes with just the 1/4” and 3/8” ratchet and sockets, but I am happy with my purchase either way. Well...it's gearwrench so it's great. It was on sale when I bought it, I'm not sure what the price is now but I couldn't pass it up. I originally was after the 243pc or the one just under but I learned they counted everything....even the individual faster bits and what not so basically if you already own a bit case or 3 or anything like that just buy this one and then use the rest of the money to invest in a nice set of ratcheting wrenches from them....reversible if possible. ... show more

Started with a set of screwdrivers and was so impressed with the quality, fit and finish, and price of Gear Wrench Tools that I am replacing all of my tools (a litle at a time) with Gear Wrench. This is a really nice basic tool set for someone seeking a serious tool upgrade. I bought this as a Birthday Gift to myself and don't regret it! I love using these tools. They feel good in your hand, are super functional, and are engineered with quality in mind. The ratchets have a really short stroke perfect for tight spaces (we all know there are many of those in today's vehicles) and they perform flawlessly. socket wrenches work and feel nice. nice variety of sockets sizes. Only thing missing is a straight screwdriver for the sockets. Wish there were more wrench sizes
