Absolutely wonderful for camping! We just got back from an 11-day camping trip in our pop-up camper where one word can describe the whole trip --- RAIN. I had bought one of these towels to try out and used that one towel for the whole trip. It was so great! Yes, it feels different on your skin than a regular terry towel, but after a few days I got used to it, no problem. It got me bone dry, and was so absorbent that I was able to use it for both drying my hair and my body at one shower. But the MOST FANTASTIC thing about it is that it dries so quickly! My husband's towels were damp, damp, damp and since we couldn't hang them outside, they never did get dry. My towel was dry overnight after being hung up inside the camper. Love it. Have just ordered one for my husband. There was no smell to speak of after using for 11 days straight --- don't see why there should be anyway, since you are clean when you use it. Maybe some people store it wet for awhile? Anyway, I can always wash it out by hand in the morning and still use it that night, when I need to, as it dries so quickly. ... show more

I bought this towel for deployment and I have to say that it is AWESOME! SUPER light weight, dries VERY fast, no dripping of water after a shower towel off. Been using it for a week and STILL no funky smell to it...I mean NONE, no mildewy, or body smell or anything. Amazing! My only objection is that it feels funny on the skin and takes a bit to get used to...meaning that with a regular towel, you kind of "scrub" your skin dry. With this towel, you simply place it on you skin and it will soak up the moisture instantly. Takes a bit to get used to. I kind of like the feel of a regular soft towel out of the shower as I ruffle it on my head and body. You dont get that feel with this kind of towel, but its uses far, far outweigh that little creature comfort of a regular towel. I bought the large. I'm 5' 7" and this is more than enough for me....well, just about right. The towel is comepletely wet after I towel off. I like this technology so much, that I'm going to buy a second one to use while I deploy and heck, they are going to make PERFECT backpacking/camping towels. ... show more

This towel is great for my gym bag. The included mesh bag holds my shampoo, conditioner and face soap. The fabric doesn't look super absorbent, but it is. It's tough to wipe the water off your body, but patting it off works well. It's the best for wrapping up my wet hair until I get to the dryer. The most shocking part is I've left it in my gym bag, wet, for a few days, and it never smelled like anything. No mildew, no nothing. It dries insanely fast. While the feel of this towel leaves a little to be desired, its absorption capabilities, compactness and quick drying features make it a solid choice for those wanting a light, compact travel towel. It feels weird, more like a sham than a towel, and you have to blot with it to get dry, but it does dry you completely when used in that fashion. The towel color is a pretty dark dusty olive drab, quite nice, and the convenient and well-thought out design features seem to have left nothing out! It has a snap-closed loop for hanging it to dry, antimicrobial treatment to prevent odors, even sewn grommets for use as a shade when camping, and a mesh storage bag with extra space for other toiletries... even the bag has an openable snap-on loop so it can also be hung around a tree branch or other object. The mesh bag is an ocher color that would blend well into many types of landscape. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the texture of this towel! A lot of other microfiber towels have a weird texture that feels cheap makes me cringe, but this one is excellent and high quality. I'll keep some traditional towels around for guests, but these are my new top choice for everyday and travel use Great product, and a real space saver! ... show more

This type of towel does take some getting used to since you do more patting than rubbing to dry off, but it works great! It absorbs a lot of water quickly, and dries fairly fast, and it rolls up very nicely into a small roll so it can fit anywhere. I live and play out in the Utah desert, and using this as a shemagh is very handy - I get it wet first, and wring out the excess before wrapping it around my head, and it works great for keeping me cool while keeping the sun and dust away from my head and face. ... show more

I bought this towel for my boyfriend. We were taking a backpacking trip and I needed something small to fit in our carry-on bags. He's 5'10 and around 195lbs, and this towel was the perfect size for him. It dries very quickly as advertised. It takes a little getting used to if you're like most people who are only used to using soft fuzzy cotton towels, but microfiber is soft and there isn't a cotton towel that will absorb as quickly as this towel. The only thing I would say is that if you don't wash it after a few uses, it does start to smell a little on the strange side. Not bad, just a little strange. ... show more
