The hammer has a patented Shock-Blok™ plug in its head, using hickory and rubber to absorb shock. An exclusive air cushioned, slip-resistant grip provides comfortable use. From the Manufacturer Vaughan & Bushnell's Steel Eagle 999 Straight Claw Hammer features a fully polished head with an octagon neck and round face. Computer designed for superior balance, this hammer is made of forged steel from head to heel. Most of the shock of hammer blows is absorbed by a plug of Shock Block, an insert of hickory and specially formulated rubber; the rest is absorbed by the unique, air cushioned, slip resistant grip.
