Works well, much more quiet than my old TCL ac that stopped working after barely two years . Was easy to install and it weighs about as much as a box of cat litter so not super heavy . Says running amps are 4.2 so it’s great for an older house where all bed rooms are on one breaker . We live in a Mobile Home so while I have the master bedroom it’s still not that big of a room so this unit cools it down in about 15 minutes. And with some extra materials it works in a horizontal sliding window you also need a support bracket . Overall happy with this purchase and happy to have AC in bedroom again ... show more

Had it now for just under four months. Living on the second floor of a house about 500 sq ft, all of my windows are 17" or less. It has been extremely hard to find a higher BTU unit that was under 17". This unit squeezed in under 17" and was easy to plop on a drill-less Ac bracket for the window. I went from a portable AC unit that was pulling 16 amps to this little guy that barley gets to 5amps. We just got 114 degree heat index weather and it was able to keep my place at 75 in the room it was in and 76 in adjacent rooms while having the AC blasting at full set at 70. I knew it wouldn't keep me that cool on those days, as this is only for 200-300 sq ft, but on any day 90 or less this unit keeps my entire place under 73. It doesn't seem if it's on low or high, doesn't seem to dish out any more cooling power but just turns the fan up. I think this also reflects in the power usage as there is hardly any power increase usage when the fan is turned higher. Noise is pretty minimal not much more than a large fan. Prompts to clean out the filter often, pretty simple to clean and often just a little cat hair in it (don't forget to check the outside grates too). Only downfall I have is that the thermostat is a bit off. I'll have it set at 72 and the room thermostat will read 70 and the adjacent rooms are 71 when it's 80 out. Hard to beat for the price (just over $200), gave it 4 because it doesn't seem to provide more cooler at higher fan settings along with the thermostat issue, but otherwise does an amazing job and highly recommend it. ... show more

The ONLY issue I have is that I can't adjust the direction of the air up or down. I can left to right, but not up or down. I have a tall bedroom window ((5 ft tall), and the sill is barely 2 ft off the ground) so I would have liked to tilt the air flow up a little bit, but I can't. Other than that? It's doing an amazing job. Because it was shipped I let it sit for a few hours with just the fan on before I turned on the AC unit, (let the refrigerant settle), and just the fan was cooling the room. Most AC units will pull air from outside, push it through a coil that's super cooled, and push it into the house. This one pulls air from inside the house through the front, cools it, and then pushes it out. Just the fan lowered the temperature a couple degrees, because it was pulling ou the hot air, and blowing it back out cooler than when it went in, and when I finally did turn on the AC unit, it REALLY cooled down quickly. In fact, I forgot to turn it turn the first night and woke up the next morning to a freezing cold room. It's a little beast. ... show more

This was only bought as a backup AC to run off a generator in the event of power failure on hot days. Selected it for ease of install and low power consumption to run off a Predator 3500 inverter generator. Todays peak temperature is 98° and feels like 116°. The power has been out for about 4 hours since noon. The room with the AC unit is southern facing catching all the rays and has brick exterior with no insulation. The room itself has a thin cheap door, but decent insulated windows. At a setting of 8 on low cool, I'd say it feels about 75 in the room. At this setting with a fridge running at the usual 50% we keep it at, my generator is pushing 750 VA. This is about 25% of the generators capacity and with eco mode on should last around 11 hours off 2.3 gallons. Well through the night. Installing for first time took only 20 minutes because I have a temporary setup for it. I'd imagine this would take less then 10 minutes next time. Appears to not hog energy which is good for emergency situations where a generator is being used. Cools the room effectively at a low setting in a small room with poor insulation on a hot day. All the pictures of the AC setting, fridge specs, and generator pull are included in case you want to do the math. Should help you decide if this is the right choice if you plan on using it for the same purpose. ... show more

    • The coolant is flammable - Low Power Consumption - Only good for a Very Small insulated room

The best part about this Air Conditioner is that it uses less energy than a bigger one. The coolant is flammable. That is not cool. They make them this way to save cost. It is cooled by some type of 'butane' derivative. I am using it in my generator shack so I don't care. I also have a cheap refrigerator and freezer that run on flammable coolant. Not Cool This is America .... the Chinese get away with producing dangerous appliances. Well, that is my opinion anyways. Back in the day this would not have been allowed. The air blows cool but not like the vents in my car. You won't freeze with this unit. This thing works and I do not recommend it if you live in the desert or really high heat. I am using it to cool my inverter shack - 10X10. It brings the temperature down from 100 to 90F. So I waited for the worst part for last. This air conditioner does not work like my other window AC. It does not turn off and on when a certain low temperature is reached. It has Low Fan Only High Fan Only High Cool and Low Cool. So far as I can tell the fan just always keeps running whether or not the compressor is cooling or not. Shea Shea Shanghai ... show more
