I put each bulb on a switch with only a single light socket because other people had said it works better detecting blackouts correctly if there are no other light bulbs on the same switch. Charged 10 hours, then flipped the breaker to simulate a blackout. The bulbs turned on and off (repeatedly) just fine using the light switch. Excellent product! Good light in normal use and is nice and bright when on battery. Our electricity goes out a lot in the winter and since we are out in the sticks it takes a long time to get power back on. I saw this on a YouTube post and had to order it immediately. I only ordered one so I could make sure it worked for me and it does! I tried it by just unplugging the lamp and that didn't work so I turned off the electricity to the house and it worked great. Like most LED's it is not particularly bright. It is supposed to be equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb. It charges automatically when you turn on the LED light. In the event of a power failure, you do have to activate the on switch, but it is a handy light source when a power outage occurs. I kept them on in the lamp for the full recommended ten (10) hours and voila they indeed can be turned on with a flip of the small switch! Haven’t had power go out, but they’re fairly bright on the flashlight mode. Easy to read with them on.

These were recommended by a friend. They took a long time to come, almost 4 weeks, but I ordered 3 instead of 2. NOTE: if the power does go out, there is a switch on the bulb base that must be turned on if no power is going through them. I’m ready if we lose power, at least we will have light. I bought these for the rare power outage. During a recent power outage we had lights for 5.5 hours. Bright without dimming until the last half hour. Just a note I would not put these in bedrooms as there is no way to turn them off once they go into battery mode. They are just on until the charge goes out.
