  • Better Than I Imagined
Like you, I was really hesitant to purchase a gas cooktop online. I couldn't ignore the massive savings and decided to give it a try. I purchased it this Monday and got free Prime Shipping. It showed up uneventfully on Wednesday. It installed hassle-free and worked perfectly. The way it is packaged from the manufacturer ensures that it shows up completely in tact and damage-free. Further, it required almost no assembly. If you do this yourself, here are a couple of tips. 1. When you remove your old cooktop, hang onto all of the fittings and adapters from the old one (you may need them). 2. Get some gas pipe rated teflon tape for all pipe fittings. 3. The cooktop includes a pressure regulator that you will need to install, simply by threading onto the gas feed pipe. 4. Be sure to use a proper dose of teflon tape on all fittings! 5. Make sure all gas knobs are "Off" before you plug the electric cord in and turn on the gas. The only tools you'll need are a couple of adjustable wrenches for all of the pipe fittings, phillips and flat head screwdrivers, and (optional) a cordless bit driver. ... show more

  • Perfect Fit
This was a replacement for a 16 year old GE gas cooktop with the glass surface - over time it was getting harder and harder to clean. When my wife got new appliances, we got a new cooktop to match the color.

  • Awesome stove
They wanted $700 for this at Home Depot and bestbuy. I thought it was going to be a cheap model but I’ve had it for 5 months and no problems

  • Works Great!
This is a great product for the money. It doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of the newer ones, but it's half the price! It works really well.

  • Solid cooktop for the money
Purchased this cooktop to replace an older GE glass cooktop as part of a countertop remodel. Went with GE since the counter cutout sizes are more or less identical so you shouldn't have any under counter changes required. Wanted another glass cooktop but could not justify paying $600 more for the glass top compared to the sale price on this one. Top is finished with a nice gloss black finish that is easy to clean. Like that the controls are on the right instead of the front. Knobs are solid and well-marked, as it the cooktop, and the switches turn off with a positive click so they stay off. Igniters work well. Grates are a little lightweight but solid enough, however, the rubber bumpers they sit on look like they will degrade or come off after time. Need to find and keep replacements on hand. Not sure what another reviewer was talking about as far as burners not putting out enough heat as these create a hot flame. What is an issue is how wide the burners are as smaller pots and pans will only work well on the smallest burner. The medium burners are about 1/2" wider diameter than our old cooktop and the flame has a habit of going around the small to medium pots and pans as opposed to properly heating the bottoms, so you have to turn the burner way down to get them to heat. Great for big pots and pans though. One thing I do not like about this cooktop is it does not have an O-ring or other kind of seal around the bottom of the rim to help hold the cooktop in place, protect the countertop from the sharp metal edge, and/or seal the cabinet opening from spills. Seems like a poor omission as the very flimsy attaching straps do not solidly hold the cooktop in place. Same straps as GE used 20 years ago, but even flimsier! I may shim the cooktop in place against the countertop opening to keep in from moving and possible marring the countertop finish. In the end, this is a solid cooktop if you can get it at the $400 price point. Highly doubt I would pay the GE MSRP of up to $750. ... show more
