    • GE dryers almost killed my whole family this weekend.
I bought a similar gas model that almost killed us. It had a gas leak, and our dogs ended up waking us up to get us out of bed. Our whole family has been sick from it. GE was cavalier about it, said that the unit should stay in the house for the next two weeks, and they will come take a look at it then. It's sitting in the garage and will most likely go to scrap. Who wants to take a chance with their family's lives? Within in a year, I reported that it had a warped lint shield less than a year after buying it. Up to a gallon of lint builds up in the interior of the machine. I measured it and showed it to repair tech, and paid warranty says it's not a mechanical failure so it's not eligible for repair. Then, the gas leak. Just wasted $800 on GE and more hours of my life than I care to admit. Bought an inexpensive dryer, and the leaking unit is now in the garage. GE refuses to replace the old model, and I don't want one like that in my house. Don't buy GE for safety or reliability--your life just may depend on it. ... show more
