The aiqidi 3.5 is an Excellent motor. Very good quality, at least this particular one I have is good. The seller and the manufacturer are easy to work with and get in contact with. Runs smooth , starts very easy. Very quiet. This motor gives the Japanese motors a run for their money , Fits on my 14 ft canoe perfectly. Very happy with this Chinese manufactured motor. We will see how it holds up to the test of time. But the first week of using the motor is great .

Out of the box was clean with no damage, was surprised to see aluminum prop instead of plastic. Comes with a manual to take the guessing game out of maintenance intervals. Mine did come with gear oil in the lower unit. Fired up after a couple pulls, and was pumping water for cooling. Idle was set to high so adjusting the idle screw on the carb is a must. I eventually adjusted the entire carb was fouling plugs and over fueling, and would leak fuel the moment you tilted the outboard up, (Easy done) after that perfect! It runs great doesn’t skip a beat clean rpm from idle to wot. Manual never stated engine break in procedure so be careful (new motors always needs the rings to be set and everything worn in to there happy place). The tiller handle for throttle is trash it works but markings are backwards and there is a lot of twist between low-high. safety kill switch awesome and close to hand. Also it is always in forward gear but it is quite no hard gear engagement set up like a little Honda or mercury. Gave this 4 stars. it is cheaper so some stuff expected but overall will run right out of box just put your mix fuel in and give it a couple rips and off you go. To get the most out of your perches do adjustments on carb for fuel and idle night and day with run quality and rpm band. Don’t forget to look up a break in procedure most are all similar depending on brand richer fuel mixture and times for throttle increments and how long you need to stay within those parameters before going full or even 3/4 throttle. It is low priced but respect it and do maintenance and it will run like a high dollar name brand.

The media could not be loaded. I bought one of these before anyone really knew how well surface drives worked.. Im glad i did.. the thing is awesome.. stock,, it does the job.. but there are sooo many mods you can do too get this thing up and cooking across the water.. i can hit 18mph in a 10ft john, solo, and skim across prob the most shallowest of river parts.. i go were jet boats only dream of goin.. its tons of fun.. its a go kart for the creek.. I have went about 7-8 miles up past spots of river i never could before.. BUT bring a gallon or 2 with you, and you can prob go 15-20 miles.. just search youtube for twister-clone", boat, motor, i put some videos explain and showing it. this above is not a real twister.. its and exact clone. i did not knw about any US companys selling these till after i bought this.. I did end up getting alot of props and parts from the US company. and my father has one. cant go wrong with any of these.. there awesome for shallow water... First thing i did was went too a 2 blade 7" prop.. theres tons of sizes and style.. the stock 3 blade is fine for anyone that needs a motor too move boat steady, in any currents.. youll prob only hit 7mph.. the 3 blades keeps the engine in a reasonable rpm range, and pushes big heavy boats well and steady.. 2 blades really make the speed and control smooth. Do a stage, 1 -2 -3 kit, bring it up from 7hp too 10-12-16hp even... (myne was a non hemi gx160/200 clone when i got a 50$ cam from ebay) these engines a HUGE IN THE KART WORLD, so there's sooo many things too do too them.. mod it, and these things are so much fun.. I got a good year out of myne, and its still goin.. I did flywheel, carb, intake, valve springs, cam, 2blade prop. governor removal, and she hits 18mph going against current.. with 7" 2 blade.. I would start with a 6-6.5" 2 blade if your stock, and or have 2 ppl.. too keep the rpms and speed steady.. AND A STAGE 1 KIT, OR 2 KIT.. a cam, flywheel, gov removal, AIR flow helps, and bigger jet on carb, really got it woke up. Or a PD style Keihn clone carb, but only if you have cam and stuff... the stock carb with a bigger jet works well.. Since these run full throttle, Keep the mods mild.. so they last.. change oil every hour or 2 of use.. ID say im up near 12HP.. its tripled the speed it was.. You will have too tinker with were you set your prop height with the set screw bolt.. prop sizes, but only if you want too... I MADE MINE SO I COULD ADJUST the bolt on the fly' too really plane it out while moving.. BUT BE Abble to lower it down for going slow, and or more weight, etc.. you gota have a bit of ingenuity, and be able too tinker if you wanta make these things go fast.. and or watch youtube.. tons of info on these on there.. if not, leave it stock.. itll still move you around 6-7mph ish..

Not sure how this even happens unless it's truly just a scam but I didn't get the motor I ordered just the pieces that go to it. Ruined a little boys Christmas he's worked so hard on his duck boat

So this little guy here, it does what it was intended for. I have it on a 14ft aluminum flatbottom boat. You get what u pay for, so for sure a beginners project, just to get the feel of things. Then bam, buy a big one. Thanks amazon.

Motor started up right out of the box. It starts within 3 pulls even on the coldest mornings. Makes more power than I expected. The fast/ slow sticker on the twist throttle is backwards, but no big deal. The main issue is the shear pin. It's undersized. Motor eats a shear pin every 10 minutes of operation (or less) at full throttle. Even without striking any obstructions in the water. It starts by slowly bending the shear pin into an S shape, until it eventually snaps. Might be why mercury and Yamaha spec plastic props on their outboards of similar size.

I bought this for a 12 ft plastic Jon boat I got at TSC . It solid for the plastic has a reinforced transom and is rated etc, Anyway took this thing down to the Ky river and hand launched! Bit of work won’t do it again. Got it done though. Mount needed a bit more screw to adjust tilt/trim beware it’s 12mm bolt. Once you get onto it and get the tilt stop adjusted so it doesn’t dig to quick and stall out. Then boy hold on it is a blast. Do invest in a separate safety pull kill switch though cause there is no reverse.
