I was skeptical if this would work better than my old one, pictured next to this one, but it's so much better. Nice and heavy, which can also be a caveat if you have to lug it around in a gig bag a lot, but very nice, was never worried about tipping. My old one was fine, but I was always worried about my flute being bumped as I think it would topple right over, just too light. Then all of the rubber feet wound up coming off and one of the metal spikes got bent. So glad I didn't get the same one. This would work for a clarinet or oboe very well as well! ... show more

I’ve had a similar make and model before. I’m a little leery of the bell hoop, it’s too wide and you can’t squeeze it together to wrap the bell more tightly. And the tightening screw seems to be poorly threaded. I’ll probably return this one.

I sat my trumpet on this stand before our orchestra concert. When I picked it up to play I realized the cap had stuck in the bell of my horn and it WOULD NOT PLAY A NOTE. So horribly disappointed! Now I have to figure out how to get it out.
