I first found these sanders about 10 years ago when I was stripping and reworking the cypress shudders on our home. I have used them ever since and swear by them. They are soft enough to be comfortable but hard enough that they can take material off with the heavier grits. And despite the pads being so small they last a good while. I do recommend putting the sand paper in some small zip locks or finding a case it will all fit in because the packing is only packaging and from my experience the only way to get more sand paper is to by the product again which isn’t a bad thing because now I have one that stays in my wood shop and that travels. ... show more

I used this on Victorian era trim. The only con is the sand paper provided didn't last long. I ended us using multi-tool sand paper. It folds around the edges of the gator and basically turns this item into a small sanding block that you can change the paper on when it wears out.

Wow, does this thing work great! It's very comfortable to use and works great for detail sanding and sanding in tight spots and corners. I wish I would have bought one sooner as it seems to work better than sanding sponges or normal sand paper wrapped around a piece of scrap wood. This is easily worth the 10 bucks and has made finishing my woodworking projects a lot easier. I have yet to get something from Gator that wasn't outstanding. ... show more

Works great, comes with multiple grades of paper. The only thing is you don't know what grit each color is if you throw away the packaging, as it's not written on the back of each. Aside from that, I'm looking forward to using it more.

Was refinishing a chest of drawers. Very difficult corners and with this little item I was able to reach the oddball areas and sand down to the bare wood. There are 3 different sandpapers from Coarse - Med - Fine. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs to sand areas on furniture or anything else. ... show more

These little sanders are great for sanding in smaller areas where you need detail and control. I use them for finish sanding cabinet doors I build to eliminate swirl marks from power sanding. Power sanding always leaves some swirl marks that are highlighted by staining and to get a really nice, swirl free finish, you really need to finish sanding by hand. So excited when it arrived today...started using it on my Tiki God carving...first time I've tried carving...so looked for a hand sander for the small spaces...this is incredible....the sandpaper attaches with velcro....fits my hand well......and the variety of sandpaper covers it all.... also bought the Gator Finishing 7186 Sander Project Pack...Both products perform well...beyond expectations ... show more
