  • Not gonna beat anything in this price range
Style: Dreadnought Pattern Name: Flight Case
I'm very satisfied with this case. Mine is a standard dreadnought. It's VERY tight and I was a little apprehensive about that at first but the padding is going to soften up just a tiny bit over time, so I expect it will be nice and snug for years to come. The pocket is fine, pretty stand room-wise. The latch on the bottom takes a little more effort to clamp shut, makes me a little nervous, but again over time this should prove to be perfect. I'm very happy with the overall fit and finish, everything aligns perfectly. I do wish the strap would stay out of the way better when closing, but that is my only complaint. I do actually feel confident enough to fly with this a few times if necessary, but not often. (It's not a Crossrock, but it's going to be the next closest thing without spending over $500.) I would dare say it is near-waterproof and that is really saying something. Will it float? Should it be submerged? No probably not. I ended up getting all my gear packed up at a gig before it all got drenched. No worries with the guitar, it stayed dry as a bone. I definitely would recommend this and may purchase another one for another guitar. ... show more

  • Hard to beat at this price
Style: Electric Pattern Name: Flight Case
I waited a couple years to write this review. The case has survived flying as a checked bag from the US to Kenya with no damage to my '52 Telecaster Reissue. The baggage handlers were not kind as evidenced by several scratches on the outside of the case, but it held up wonderfully. All latches, hinges, and the handle are all intact without any damage. It's a great case even if you don't plan to fly with it—I use it as my daily case as well. It's pretty light. I've even recommended it to a few of my friends who also travel internationally. ... show more

  • What's inside the case?
Style: Bass Pattern Name: Flight Case
I was disappointed with the internal 'stuffing'. I have several other guitar cases that are much 'plusher' and by that I mean provide more support to the instrument when encased - both the body and the neck of the guitar. As a previous customer, I was expecting more from Gator. .

  • great protection
Style: Les Paul Pattern Name: Flight Case
Used this guitar case for a trip from San Diego to Lansing, Michigan. It was loaded with the suitcase cargo on the plane and after picking it up, there were a little external scuff marks indicating it was not handled gently. When I opened the case, my les paul electric guitar was intact and there were no internal damage. Love this case! It's worth the cost. ... show more

  • Great Quality
Style: Electric Pattern Name: Flight Case
Sturdy and cushioned nice locks. Purchased to transport my guitar build on an airline to bring to my son safely. Strat guitar fits perfect, hope it survives the baggage crew.

  • Fits …
Style: Bass Pattern Name: Flight Case
As the ad says, both the Fender Jazz Bass and the Precision Bass fit … the Jazz Bass is a little tighter fit, but it still fits easily. The case seems well built, solid, sturdy; and all the latches are correctly positioned & click right into place. So far, so good!!

  • Solid case with truly responsible interior padding (<--from a professional custom case maker)
Style: Bass Pattern Name: Flight Case
We bought this case for a custom-made bass, essentially a P/J instrument with a neck from a Roadstar 2. Not only am I a custom instrument maker, but I have extensive history in instrument case design, having built custom woodwind cases for clarinets and saxophones, and having been commissioned to build a custom waterproof carbon fiber and titanium case for an Amati viola worth over a million dollars, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to protecting instruments. I assumed I'd be making extensive modifications to protect our custom bass, but in fact, so much of this case is responsibly designed that I only had to make one custom pad. And that's a pad that I'd recommend ANYONE make who is serious about protecting their electric bass in this, or any case. The only exception might be if the body of your instrument already touches the case at both strap buttons so that the body can't move either direction in the body cavity. Even then, a custom pad to ensure that the strap buttons would not take all the load if the guitar were to shift toward the head or tail would be wise. If the pad can also be shaped to ensure that the body can't shift side to side, all the better. With the pad customized to the bottom curve of the instrument, the body can't shift in any direction, and the majority of the neck is also protected against shock, case-fall, etc. The tuning head sits suspened in open space in the case, so that no part of it touches anything, even in an impact. This is ideal. We also checked that the height of the body relative to the neck means that no undue shear load will be put on the neck-body joint in the case of a flat fall in either direction, or the equivalent impact. So, with the fleece upholstered grey pad you see in the photos, our cherry burst cherry bass is beyond snug. Highly recommend this case Highly recommend an end pad to take up all remaining available motion for your instrument! ... show more

  • Guitar survived overseas travel
Style: Classical Pattern Name: Flight Case
This case worked well at keeping my classical guitar safe on an overseas trip. The case is lightweight and comfortable to carry by hand. The hand hold has nice padding. It might be difficult to carry for people who can’t lift 20 pounds comfortably.
