  • Total garbage
5 quick points: 1. All the 5 star reviews are sycophantic in nature and based on personal experience with the author not this book. 2. This is a 50 page booklet double spaced to eke out 100 pages. 3. The authors incessant boasting and attempts at humor make him thoroughly unlikable. 4. The only thing that changed after his heart attack is that he became more “mindful”. 5. This book was a waste of money, there is no wY it’s worth $14 ... show more

  • Excellent book on being connected to what's important to you.
Donny is a very interesting man. I've had the pleasure of spending a couple days in the woods with him. I stumbled on this book after meeting Donny and it was a joy to read. I really enjoy his take on life, family, nature, and survival. It's a quick, easy read that helps you realize what really is important in your life. It helps to ground you and see that you're maximizing your short time on this earth. On a side note. If you can figure out a way to get into the woods with Donny I 100% recommend it. I spent three days in June of 2018 with him and I can't wait to go back out there. There's so much to learn and his teaching style is so laid back, and stress-free. His knowledge of the outdoors, edible plants, survival skills, hunting, trapping, fishing, and primal living are up there with the best of the best. I've never met someone that knows as much as he does on those above mentioned topics. Red the book. Take a class. Truly live you life. Frank R. ... show more

  • Great Read about finding out what is important to you
I was unable to put this book down. Having known Donny for many years I can honestly say I remember him stating computers were a fad and he would always strip down near naked while in the field in order to rest so I know he believes what he is writing. I can also say that Donny was always positive and infected others with his positivity and it is evident in his book. ... show more

  • A profoundly personal and insightful book
Donny Dust tells his very personal story of near death and how he has lived his life since to make the most of each day. He breaks his story down into easy to follow concepts and details how they work for him and help to prolong and make the most of the life we have. His writing feels as if he is speaking specifically to you, the reader, allowing one to see into his inner thoughts and feelings and views of life and the world around him. His steps make sense and help his reader to dig deeper into their own life and explore the ways they themself may be able to improve their quality of life and find happiness and peace in each moment lived. I highly recommend his novel to any nature lover and not nature lover (in hope you will come to value the world outdoors and all it has to offer). ... show more

  • Great read
An engaging, well-written account of one man’s challenge with a near death experience and channeling the motivation to change into useful tips. The author’s survivalist humor and expertise shines through this back to nature self-help book. A quick read with lots of useful information.

  • Scavenger has some amazing little firecrackers of knowledge
They stick out here and there and just explode into an “ah hah!” moment as you’re consuming. Because that’s kind of what this book feels like, you’re not reading you’re devouring. It’s a pretty quick and smooth read, but it’s packed full of interesting quips, thoughts, and definitely has something for everyone to steal from it. ... show more
