The case has almost no padding. The case where the body of the bass rest is like laying on the floor, nothing between it just the plastic of the case and some minimal flocking. I got the bass case with the light and was disappointed in how the bass fits in it. It fits length and width, but the case does not allow the bass to sit flat. Meaning, when the bass is sitting in the case, the neck is elevated about the neck rest area about 1 to 1 1/2 inches so it teeters in there. I tried several other of my basses just to be sure it just wasn't the bass itself, but it's sloppy on all of them. The video is rotated, but you can see how it rocks in there. The light is very cheap and the switch has to be fiddled with for it to make contact. Not the best purchase I've made recently, but it'll do for now. I bought this case to replace the original case that my 1993 Fender Urge Bass, that over the years has become my primary instrument. I try and keep all of my basses pristine and ding-free. I admit that the LED lighting was an attractive novelty that I had to see. The case arrived well packed and in perfect condition. The heavy duty construction is a great assurance that my bass is going to survive accidents and mishandling by anyone who manages to get close enough to my basses to be a problem. And the light? The LED bulb mounted in the top half of the case's lid is bright enough to not only light the case's interior, but some of the area around the case. Why would a company state that they offer a LED light and that it cost extra but no one else offer the LED light? I would think that you would make sure that the LED light works and that it has a USB port that allows for it to be recharged once the LED light no longer illuminates.
