I've been using the Gater Guitar Case for my Fender Player Plus Precision Bass, and I couldn't be happier with it. I ordered this case for my Sire V5 (Jazz bass style), and it is a perfect fit. I was concerned as the Sire is a little longer than a jazz bass by a hair,but it is a comfy fit for the guitar. The case is nice, wood with a plush interior. The case latches seem sturdy and the case is what I've come to expect from Gator products. (Good stuff!) Ever try to find a case for a short scale bass? The Fender gig bag is terrible, no padding at all. The Fender Mustang Bass case is $270 and it's not entirely clear that it's a G&G -- and the snap-strap on the neck pocket is known to damage basses. That's also a LOT of money to spend on a bass that is $850 new. Enter the Gator at a modest $120. It fits a short scale just fine. The case is not built like a G&G, but is good value for the price. Mine arrived in perfect condition. As decent protection for your at home or light studio bass, five out of five, would buy again. ... show more

Seems sturdy and well made; what I would expect from Gator and this price point. Only gripe I have is that my jazz bass isn’t supported terribly well in it. The neck doesn’t stay in the slot at falls to the bottom, and the bass can shift for and aft about 1”. I’m not terribly concerned as it’s not a high dollar bass and I don’t transport it much. I would suggest a higher end Gator for nicer basses or every day use. ... show more
