The description says "made in US", Gates made. Actually made in Israel, has MotRad stamped on the side. The big thing is that it functioned like the oem thermostat, opened at 203F (right in the middle of the factory temp gauge. I think a thermostat made by an Israel factory is probably as good as it gets, its blazing hot in the middle east. They a probably making thermostats for all the mfs, and with the shortages needed to use the stamped parts they had available. I bought a Stant Stainless steel OE thermostat that I returned because it was also a MotRad and opened at prox 180F instead if 203F. ... show more

    • Terrible thermostat. 6 months & failed!
In June I did a complete front end of motor parts replacement on a 2004 Durango Hemi for my parents...it had over 170k miles and still ran great but due to age/mileage I decided it was time to replace "operating" parts before they failed. ALL parts from front of block to the grille were replaced. This thermostat failed at 6 months. It stuck closed until temps caused fluid to blow out the radiator cap and overflow and dumped a gallon on the drive. Factory thermo worked for 18 years but this piece of crap lasted only 6 months. Fortunately the failure didn't leave my elderly parents stranded when temps hit -35 wind chill today, as it failed Monday and I was able to repair yesterday. Do not buy this thermo!!! ... show more

I put this in my 2007 Ram 1500 when I replaced the water pump. It fit perfectly and I haven't had so much as a hiccup with the cooling system since I put it in.
