This review is for Gates 31782 Locking Fuel Tank Cap. Fits without any issues. It has an unusual lock feature when locked the mechanism has no detent so it spins freely in both lock and unlock direction.

Used on a Buick. Fit well. Wanted the locking kind since the gas cover door does Not lock. I do still have a problem with evap codes. As before the new gas cap. Have to check into that. I also Was able to make some spare keys from a key man place.

The product came to me on time and works, but did not fit my car. The description did say it would fit my chevy Equinox, but it did not. If it had fit, I would have kept it. It is made well and will work, if it fits your car. I returned it the same day, which was made so easy, because I was able to take it to my local Kolh's, who were so fast with the process. The company refunded my money so quick. If I did other items I will use the company again, just didn't fit my car this time. ... show more

They either sent the wrong one or junk. Won't lock Screw it on and no matter how many clicks you use, screws right back off without the key.. It doesn't look like the pic on the underside.

A few days ago I found my gas cap hanging out in the open with the tank exposed, definitely something to be suspicious about. Luckily it doesn't look like anybody put anything in there, but it got me to thinking. This cap was only $10 and works great. When its locked the cap simply spins and doesn't come out.
