A good quality hose none the less. Under normal conditions, this hose should work fine. Server use you should maybe get Gates green stripe heavy duty hose. And thanks to the customer that had the good sense to put up pictures of the package label showing the length. The Q&A for the 5/8 hose showed length from 5 to 25 feet. When there is a doubt, just think that you're not going to buy Gates, Made in USA heater hose for $0.36 per foot in 2016. The description should be worked on. Not only does it show the dimensions of the bag the item is in, but also the origin as "China". And I don't think they mean China, Texas. According to the label on the bad, item number 28492 is six feet and Made in USA. ... show more

    • Great folding satey handle... Err... Heater hose?
This is indeed 3/4 Gates heater hose, as pictured and indicated by the number 28492. I docked a star for the silly and odd "Safety fold-away handle" description. It must be some kind of glitch in the database. To be sure, I ordered a similar product from another manufacturer that is of lesser quality, because I needed a non-leaking hose. Now I have plenty of extra, but hoses always come in handy. Just fix the description, please!!! ... show more

I was disappointed when I received this hose due to the wall thickness. It seems really thin and cheap for heater hose. In the picture I have the hose I received (bottom)and a scrap piece of hose I trimmed off of a piece I got from Advanced Auto (top). You can see the difference in the wall thickness and quality. On the upside, it is made in the USA! ... show more

This revolutionized my life. When the rubber pour spout on my NATO-style metal gas can cracked, I was distraught. They don't sell new rubber spout nozzles, just entire spout assemblies for about $30. I cut off a foot of this, tapered the end, and shoved it down inside the end of the steel spout. PERFECT! It honestly makes the can easier to use than the original spout because it's twice as long and more flexy. ... show more

    • Thin wall.
Seems like the wall is thinner than most 3/4 heater hoses- a bit of a loose fit on existing fittings. Have not had a problem though- just need to tighten the clamps more than usual.

I always look for American made products, especially when it comes to automotive parts. Gates has a quality reputation for a reason, American made products of high quality. And at a very good price. I'm sure you could find a foreign made hose for a bit less, but your going to replace that hose WAY before you replace this Gates product. If you have ever had any measurable amount of time handling and using rubber(insert dirty joke/comment here) then you know that not only are there very different grades but that you can feel if it's good rubber or not when you touch it and see how it moves. This hose is very flexible but also with some rigidity. It does resist kinking very well but is very easy to maneuver around your engine bay.     • HOSE IS 5/8" NOT 3/4"
Unsealed ziplock packaging, Wrong size, interior diameter is 5/8", it even says it in small print on the hose, which is also sprayed with a nasty oily preservative. Maybe I got a sabotaged set? Worthless as-is.
