For the price, this item works great. It is not a detector that sniffs the air for readings like the long probes you see energy companies have. It is a smaller device that works well for testing for natural gas leaks at the source. This means you must hold it gently against an area that you want to check for a moment. It is great for checking around valves or other seals that could leak gas such as your water heater tubes or gas stove. I had a 1lb propane tank shut off and it was able to detect residual propane on the tip of it, which is what Xcel energy did one time with their probes in front of me, so if it can catch that, it likely will catch other non-smelling leaks, but you must go slow around the areas you are testing and also turn the S on for sensitive.

I thought I might have a slight gas leak at my furnace connection. Price was right for this leak detector and it worked perfectly. Confirmed a leak at one of the threaded joints. My A/C guy was here doing a Spring maintenance check and he repaired it for me. Handy tool to have around.

Nice design, quality construction, simple to use and reacts quickly to presence of LP gas. I use it when changing propane tanks on my camper and grill and attaching devices to the camper LP quick connect. So much easier and safer than mixing up soap and water, hoping the mixture is right and that bubbles are in a visible location. I’d usually skip the soap test - this leak detector may prevent a disaster someday!

I farted and it detected the leak. LMAO Jk. I tested it on a leak, and it works great. I just moved to a house with a gas water heater and wanted to do my own test just to make sure there were no leaks. It didn't pick up any. I tested on a lighter and it worked outstanding. Super loud and display is bright. Great value.

I purchased this detector in December. I ran it through some tests and the sensitivity and detection worked great. Of course I’m also keeping in mind this is 20ish dollars device. I’m expecting it to work and you should too but I swear some of these reviews are expecting a professional level tool for a pocket tool price. Stop that;) I used the detector and it performed very well the 1/2 dozen or so times I used it between Dec-April. Unfortunately when I went to use it the last time it wouldn’t turn on. I swapped a couple different pairs of batteries and it was still dead. I was disappointed of course because although it’s not expensive I was hoping to get some years not months out of it. I reached out to the company through the Amazon App. They replied in less than a day. They asked some expected questions and I gave them the information along with a few pictures of the device which still looked brand new. After that message with the pictures they informed me one was on the way and I’d have it in a few days. I actually received it the next day. Of course the ideal situation is the product never fails but if it does it’s nice to get no hassle replacement. From my first message to having a device in hand was about 5 days. For an inexpensive product I’m impressed with how attentive the CS was. I’ve used the new one a couple times and it’s working well. Do NOT buy this product and then be upset when it doesn’t perform like a Sensit product. DO BUY this product if you’re looking for an inexpensive Homeowner grade detector with an easy to process warranty the company stands behind.
