  • Absolutely Love this Cabinet But Read On
I recently moved and did not think I would need my much loved garage cabinets but really do. So I was thrilled to come across this cabinet. It is a great value compared to the ones I used to own and has much better functionality. The end result after building them is even if I still had my old ones I would love to replace with these and the cost is about $100 less. I love the built in peg board on the back and in the doors. I also love that it sits on heavy duty casters. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Well that is easy but if you read on it will help you out. The door and one side piece did come dented. I know if I would have contacted Garveehome they would have replaced them but anyone who has had garage cabinets dents will happen at times and for me they are about function not display. The real reason I took it to 4 stars has a lot to do with the directions but I will explain difference I did and how they can help you. Trouble started on step 2. They use thin threaded metal screws (R Screws) so they can be difficult to get to catch. It. Makes sense to use these screws but it may get frustrating but that guided my next few steps. In step 3 you connected the side with R and T screws. Instead I did the T screws which are standard metal screws then put the top on from step 4 (ideal is doing this with a partner so it does not flop too much), did those t screws as well then I did the R screws in a crossing pattern first on each of the sides and then in similar fashion on the front and back. When I mean crossing pattern, I would do upper right, the lower left, then upper left and followed by lower right. By doing it this way it better aligned the screws and by the end they went on really easily. I then did step 5 but skipped 6 and 7, going instead to step 8 where you connect the peg board. It is much easier to do this without the back installed. I also installed the shelves from step 9. I then went back and did 6 and 7. The only area I found really confusing in the directions was the lock mechanism. In step 10. I to did this out if order. I first did the pins on the doors and attached to the cabinet then I went back to deal with the handle. This is were the directions are poor. First set your handle facing down and put over the hole on the outside of the cabinet. Then take the metal piece that has circle and 2 screw holes and place that on the inside of the cabinet. Attach the 2 screws. Now take the metal plate with 2 pin slots and put that over the door mechanism on the inside. Then put the rods in the plastic slots at the top and bottom of the cabinet and then put them on the metal spots on the piece we just installed. Then you place the cover over it and after the cover you slide in the cutter pin. If you follow these steps you will be pleased with the end results. Now I elected not to install the wall anchors because I am looking forward to using those wheels! ... show more

  • Solid, Stylish, and Surprisingly Spacious Cabinet
This cabinet is a fantastic addition to my garage. The steel feels sturdy, the shelves are adjustable, and the lock works smoothly. I especially like the built-in pegboard and heavy-duty casters, which make it easy to move around. Assembly took some patience—using a drill helped with tight screw holes—but the finished product is well worth it. It looks sleek, holds a ton of tools, and keeps everything organized. Definitely worth the price! ... show more

  • Sturdy Cabinet for Organized Storage
We got this steel tool storage cabinet to help organize our tools for self-storage door maintenance. It arrived well-packaged and was easy to assemble. The locking system feels solid and provides peace of mind, especially with tools we don’t use every day. The adjustable shelves make it easy to configure the space for different tools and parts. It’s tall and doesn’t take up much floor space, but it holds a lot. The feet adjust easily to level the cabinet on uneven floors. It’s a good fit for our workshop and has helped us keep the space looking more professional and tidy. A solid option for anyone managing tools across multiple work sites. ... show more

  • Bends and blemishes, but okay
This cabinet came in an 85lb box which included assembly instructions and a thin pair of gloves to prevent injury from the sharp metal. I proceeded with assembly, and aside from one improper call-out in the instructions (I instead of J), it went together okay. Out of the ~24 sheet metal screws, three of them stripped out. My screwdriver was on a very low torque setting, which often wouldn't drive the screw all the way in, so the screw holes weren't stripped by excessive torque, they were stripped because of the poor tolerance of the screw holes and the low quality of the screws. In the end, there were enough redundant screws that the three stripped ones made no difference to the integrity of the cabinet. Leveling the cabinet was a challenge because there wasn't enough range in the leveling feet. My pre-tensioned slab has a slightly higher ground level near the edges. The left-rear foot is all the way in (minimum height), but the right-front foot could not extend far enough to level the cabinet. I put a stack of four US quarters under the right-front foot to level the cabinet before securing it to the wall. Also, the Phillips-like screw slots on top of the leveling feet (accessible via rubber-capped windows on the inside bottom shelf) are awkward. The screw heads look like Phillips, but are actually dual-slotted so you must use a regular screwdriver and fiddle to find the correct alignment, and keep it aligned while turning. a Phillips (or hex, or torx, or almost anything else) screw head would make the leveling task much easier. The main door takes some fiddling to close and lock properly. This is mainly caused by poor tolerances. It's possible to push the door too far in, so the latch misses the hole. It's also possible to flex the door so that the bottom latch misses when the top latch is lined up. The lock works okay, but the (symmetrical) key can be difficult to align so that it goes into the lock. ... show more
