  • Demo mode looks good.
The unit itself is nice other than having to buy maps separately. I bought 2 of these from the same seller and one showed up with the wrong unit in the box. The one I did receive is very nice though. I put it on Demo mode and the screen is really clear and vibrant.

  • Works as advertised
I'm impressed with how this unit works. Side view works really well for finding those structures under water that holds fish.

  • Very accurate
I've been using it for a few years and I'm glad I bought it. I like the side scan feature.

  • Well worth the money!!!
I love this fish finder. I looked A LOT before settling on this item. I have a 20ft Suntracker Pontoon and this is mounted just in front of my throttle on a swing mount. The size (9” screen) is perfect. Even in sunlight it is not washed out and easily viewable. The depth readings and alarms are great as the like I am on changes rapidly and differently all over the lake. I would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone. I did NOT install this myself. I paid the shop that did my yearly engine maintenance to install. But they said it was very straight forward and easy. ... show more

  • Warranty policy and technical support is beyond frustrating
Frustrating experience with Garmin so far. Bought the Striker 9SV unit and GT52 transducer package from Amazon about a month ago – clearly under full warranty. Unit has been glitching out from day one. See picture. I was on the phone with Garmin technical support multiple times over several hours and they were unable to find a solution. Finally, they agreed to send out a new transducer for arrival the following day. A week later, no transducer arrived. I spent more hours trying to reach a live person who told me that I had to send $275.60 for a replacement transducer before they would send me the replacement. No matter that the unit is under warranty. So that means I have to drive 4 hours to the boat to remove the old transducer and send it in before I can get the new transducer and get back on the water. Worse, if the glitch is in the head unit then it will be two more weeks before I am back to fishing. No, they would not send me a replacement head unit and transducer package, even though that is what I purchased. Yes, they will refund my money after I send the old transducer back – but this is a pretty lousy customer service policy right in the middle of striped bass season! Come on Garmin – Humminbird never treated me like this – although their units never failed me either. ... show more
