This fit my needs like a glove. This unit is easy to use, I have yet to have to read the online manual to do or adjust anything. It allows me to map and mark all of the spots that I pick up fish while trolling. Once you have made a few passes and have a map made up, you can fallow the same route along edges and ledges and it is accurate to a few feet. This is a huge advantage in lake trout fishing. You can skirt underwater structure, and get your lure in the "Strike Zone" consistently. I wish I had bought this years ago. The only draw back is that it will not keep a depth reading at speeds above 15 MPH, which would be great for mapping. But is steady, rock solid at trolling speeds. ... show more

    • No gps mapping and contouring
I’m a proud user of garmin fishfinder/gps and I’ve owned and used many of them. I purchased this one because I wanted gps mapping and contouring. The description said that it did all that I wanted but when I installed and used it there was no gps mapping or contouring. All I got was a yellow screen with a boat and tracks. I tried going through all the functions thinking it might needed to be set up but there was nothing that I did fixed the problem. This is the first time I’m disappointed with garmin. They should leave out gps mapping and contouring in the description because it doesn’t have any. ... show more
