  • I was surprised, pleasantly surprised
Style: Standard Edition
UPDATE 08-04-24: After 10 months of use I'm pleased to say that I like this watch even more than my original review. 2 things stand out: 1. The touch screen works extremely well. I don't use the buttons much. For those who don't want it, you can turn it off in *settings*. But why? 2. I really like the Morning Report. When you wear it while sleeping, it measures your sleep quality (its very accurate), training readiness, weather, variable heart rate, body stress, etc. I look at it every morning. Funny thing is it took me a few months to figure out it was right there. All I had to do was scroll the screen. Lol 3. Tides. I'm a boater and tides on this watch are very accurate and always one touch away. So 10 months later this watch totally rocks. Probably the best tech purchase I've made in the past 5 to 10 years. Huge upgrade over the Quatix 5. I owned the Quatix 5 for 6 years. It was a very good watch but not a very good smartwatch. It was flaky at best when connecting to my Android phone but the watch was darn near indestructible. I used it primarily to tell time and a heart rate monitor but everything else never worked consistently. Finally I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to the Quatix 7 (standard edition). Amazon had it for $200 off so there it was, the incentive I needed. Upon unboxing I noticed the bezel was thinner and not nearly as bulky as the Quatix 5. Setup was a breeze. The one thing I found odd is you will need both the Garmin Connect smartphone app and Garmin Express on your laptop. Why? Anyway after a bit of confusion on which app to use (you need them both on setup) I was able to complete the setup in about 15 to 20 minutes. There are several really nice watch faces included. You have customize them. You can also buy additional watch faces from various Developers using the smartphone app. I found the watch faces that come with the Quatix 7 are well thought out and easy to customize. I have not had any issues with connectivity to my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4). It's seamless. Text, calls and email notifications work great and you can read them right on the watch. I can also reply to text's using prescript canned responses that I created or the ones that come on the Quatix 7. The Quatix 7 has MANY built-in top shelf health apps. Heart rate monitor, heart rate variability, stress, blood oxygen level, body battery (basically measures your energy level, steps, floors, etc etc etc. They all work flawlessly. I was very impressed because my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is not consistent nor accurate. The Quatix 7 has fantastic boating apps. Too many to describe here but here's a few: Tides, Wind, Weather, Controlling Garmin chart plotters and autopilot, Garmin Fusion stereo controller, Fishing areas, Speed, Distance, Anchor drag, Sailing training and cruising, Compass and many many more. It's amazing! For work outs it's basically the same as the incredible Fenix 7 - biking, treadmill, running, hiking, ellipticals, rowing, strength, kayaking, yoga, pilates, etc etc etc. Battery life: I have the Standard Edition and easily get 2 weeks between charges. If you get the Sapphire Edition your battery life is certified for only 6 days because of the high clarity AMOLED screen. The Solar Edition will give you a month of use between charges according to Garmin. You can swim with it on or go into the ocean and rest assured it will keep working. Salt water has no effect on it. I'm VERY impressed with the Quatix 7 and happy with the purchase. At $399 with the $200 off its a bargain and unlike a lot of other products it just works. And does it well. ... show more

  • Does everything but vacuum! ;-)
Style: Standard Edition
If you are familiar with Garmin Quatix watches you'll know it's quality is good. This watch is so versatile that you can change faces, you can add and delete what information you want to see on the main face, you can make it so personal that the thought of a factory reset might seem scary. Of the activities I really only use the Walking and Sail Race (and not all the bells and whistles of Sail Race-yet) and I have them set up so I can find very easily. Screen clarity is good. The functionality good so far (still getting into it). The size seems a little large but getting the things you want to see regularly on the screen would not be possible with a smaller screen. The ease of use takes practice, every week it gets easier. I got this at a reduced price (probably last year's model-but updates should take care of that) and feel is is good value for the money. ... show more

I am really enjoying getting to know the functions on my new watch. The interface is very intuitive and easy to navigate. The apps and GPS work great. I really like the sailing features, tides and currents, SOG, tacking, wind info, etc. Really helpful if you're boat isn't equipt with a plotter. The GPS Store was super fast shipping it out. I ordered it Tuesday morning and it was delivered the next day by noon. Can't beat that kind of service. ... show more

OK... First off, I want to say that I love this watch, but like most things you love, they aren't perfect. Wish list: -Be able to adjust the vibration intensity -Be able to put more privacy on incoming messages. I only want it to show I have a notification. No need to see who it's from. I usually already know that. -The watch band out comes with can get scratches much easier than I would like -That's it so far. Everything wise is great! Sure the screen display doesn't look as pretty as the new ones, but wow can you see it during the day time. The bands are so easy to change out. The activities work great. The sensors show awesome info. The battery life lasts so long. I've given it the initial charge, and once after that. I've had this watch for over a month. This means I can finally wear my watch at night to see how well I'm sleeping too. The abilities of this watch are overkill for what I need, but the style and solar function sold me to the upgrade. This is not a watch for a little wrist. If you are aggregate or above, it will sit great and look great. ... show more

Great watch at a great price

  • Like it a lot!
Style: Solar
Just a day and I already like the watch a lot. Wore it to swim without issues. Fast charging of battery and long battery life extended by sunlight gives a huge piece of mind. And its smart functions are just what I need. Gps is fast enough to pickup location quickly which will be a good supplement to boat, car and cellphone one. Under the sun, I cannot read from a Galaxy watch 5 screen but can read easily from this 7x screen. Plus I don't have to charge it everyday, but every month instead. Galaxy watch can make calls, but I rarely use it since speakers are not as good as phone's and certainly not as good as cars'. So even though Quatix 8 is there, I still chose 7x, not just for the 1/2 price. The always in dimmed display with one touch backlight is perfect for privacy and quick glance balance. The metal chain is wide and smooth, very comfortable to wear. The titanium color is not very dull, even though it is not the shiny stainless steel color, making it masculine and nice looking. Apple watch is way too small to look good on a guy's wrist, lol. ... show more

  • Love!
I have had my Garmin QUATIX 7 Pro for a couple years now. I use it when going offshore fishing, regular boating, yard work, working out, etc. I also wear it when dressing up for work. It works as advertised. To be perfectly honest, other than for radio volume control when at the sandbar, I don’t really use the features that connect it to my chart plotter. ... show more
