  • Great features with Premium build quality
Color: Black- Solar Style: Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I used 735xt and 935 before this. The 955 has much brighter screen and vibrant color. The touch screen is a nice touch, pun intended. The watch feels much nicer and the measurement system all seem to work better than it’s predecessors. So far I like every bit of upgrade that comes with it.

  • Excellent watch, worth every penny!
Color: Black- Solar Style: Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I was a little worried initially if this would look a bit small on my wrist. Something about a big bold watch on my wrist I was really drawn to. This watch fits just that and is a little more elegant than the Fenix line, in my opinion. My first Garmin watch was the Venu Sq Music, which I still currently use for work. Work is a bit physical, and I want to keep this watch for just my workouts, mainly running. The Venu Sq Music is a little small for my liking, but I really like the look and feel of this watch. I would personally recommend to get the solar option, but as others have said, if you never go outside it's probably not needed. I ordered this watch mid Oct 2022, so not as many opportunities in WI to gauge the charging/maintaining abilities- I will have to wait for summer or a vacation for that. I did have a nice sunny day in late October here, and sitting for roughly 1hr in the sun charged a percent. Pretty decent in my opinion. I do not use any of the music, txt alert, or other Bluetooth options other than to sync to my phone every few days. Battery life is amazing. To a point that I actually have to think hard when my last charge was when it finally needs to be plugged in. I'm sure not using the Bluetooth alerts help a lot. I run just about everyday and use the GPS on run mode, so I still do challenge the battery a bit. Tons of features that I am still learning. The watch does take a few weeks to "learn you". I take the training suggestions with a grain of salt, but have noticed suggestions are not all that far off from my pre-planned training program. I like the quick morning report each morning. Kinda fun to wake up and look at phone for this info. Sure it's expensive but GPS tracking, battery life, and overall software/options on this watch are very expensive. I was on the fence at first, but very glad I pulled the trigger. ... show more

  • WOW - what can't this do?
Color: Whitestone Style: Non Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I got this refurbished watch on Black Friday for my daughter at an AMAZING price! She is a triathlete and wanted this for Christmas. It tracks EVERYTHING. In the first few days, her watch was telling her she was not working out hard enough. Yesterday, it said she needed to rest more, It tracks her sleep, O2, pace, recovery everything. Plus the batter lasts forever (unlike my Samsung Galaxy watch). If I had not just purchased my Samsung this year, I'd also get this watch. OR should i say wrist CLOCK! It's HUGE! More a wrist clock vs wrist watch. :) Highly recommend for athletes who track everything. ... show more

  • This is the Greatest Thing Ever
Color: Black- Solar Style: Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I love this thing. It is not an Introductory Garmin, and the learning curve has been steep, but luckily I did not want to start with a stripped down watch. The sleep tracking has been super interesting, and the suggested runs have felt right on target with my understanding of where I should be in my training as well as how my body is feeling. I am *impressed.* My only demerit is for the battery life because I had the impression from another review that I might get 16 whole days of use, including runs. BUT I am currently not getting much solar contact and I haven’t figured out how to unpair the phone notifs which probably eat a lot of battery life - and so I’m keeping it five stars because I could likely go about at least four days, including runs, even with my sub optimizing use - whereas my last brand name watch couldn’t go a whole day after a long run without charging! ... show more

  • Large, complex watch--designed for serious fitness and athletic pursuits
Color: Black Style: Non Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
A large, complex watch; well-designed for its intended market of high-achieving fitness/training/athletic enthusiasts. Also has good support for outdoor/hiking maps and extremely long battery life, GPS, heart monitors and a touch screen. Lots of buttons [5]! This is an expensive watch. If you're about serious back-country trekking, Garmin has the maps! Less support for more daily pursuits, and likely over-kill for most casual fitness goals. Has a trans-flective display--inferior to the more expensive 965 and many other high-end watches. Has no LTE, so maps and other uses in the field are strictly off-line. I decided this was not a good fit for me; instead, I selected a Galaxy 5 Pro--with titanium case, OLED display, LTE [to both make/receive calls] and ability to handle NFC credit cards. [Samsung has finally come through a year late with most of the promised features--with a bit more to clean up.] But overall, I'm disappointed that either these watches must be paired with a smartphone and/or the maker gets to sell your fitness and heart monitor results if you want all the cool features. With the Galaxy Watch, you also need a Galaxy smartphone for those. ... show more

  • Excellent battery life, visibility and portability
Color: Whitestone Style: Non Solar Pattern Name: Smartwatch
I really-really like this watch and prefer it to the supposedly fancier Forerunner 965 that I have purchased before (I sent that one back). I have also owned Instinct, Fenix and my wife had Venu, Vivoactive watches so I have a good understanding of what to expect in terms of features. This watch is the best of the bunch. The best thing about this watch is the screen and battery life. I love the non-reflective screen, I use the watch outside a lot, and the watch face is extraordinarily more visible than any other type of screen. I like how the screen is not too bright indoors - personally, I find the reflective display on this watch to be soothing and much more pleasant to look at than the phone-like displays on AMOLED watches. Battery life is awesome I get 15 days on a single charge and that includes at least 1 hr activity tracking just about every day. The watch has so many features - I love the Garmin Pay and use it almost exclusively. The watch is also very light compared to say Fenix or Apple watch, so that too is a huge factor for me. All in all the best Garmin purchase ever! ... show more
