I have had this watch for 2 months now and it has by far been the best smart watch I have ever owned. As a runner, this watch if much more effective in recording my runs and provides much better insights to my workouts. The charge lasts a long time too, which is really nice. I love this watch. It is the perfect balance between features and it’s price point. For the price point it includes a lot of features. It took me a moment to get used to the MIP screen but I appreciate it and would buy it again. The battery life is outstanding and something I’m most thankful for especially coming from charging my Apple Watch every other day. I used my Apple Watch as a true “smart watch” - I allowed all of my phone notifications to come through, however on this Garmin I have all of those features turned off, I didn’t want that nor do I need it. I appreciate most having all of Garmin health features and the app is even more user friendly than apple’s. I’ve always used farming platform to record my fitness activities and I’m happy to be onboard with their smartwatches. Garmin does everything and more, in my opinion.

I’ve been a Garmin Fan since the first forerunner was released. I’ve had various Forerunner versions and this one is by far my favorite. The fast GPS pick up is by far my favorite feature. As I am a seasoned athlete, the daily workout tips and suggestions were annoying until I turned them off. The only thing I don’t love is the case size. The large is a mm larger than the 235 Version (46mm vs 45 mm) and the small is 1.5 mm smaller than the 245 version (41mm vs 42.5mm). The large is too big for my wrist and the small is too small but a workable option compared the the large version. I feel like in trying to make this watch more available to all people; they made it ideal for the two extremes of body sizes and the middle group got the shaft this go-round. The watch would be perfect if it was anywhere between the 42.5mm of the 245 and the 45 mm of the 235. Aesthetically this is the best looking of all the forerunner versions in both sizes; but on my wrist the large is too big and won’t track my wrist heart rate correctly because my bone doesn’t allow the watch to lay flat. The small looks too small for my wrist. :( I didn’t realize how much it bothers me. I had to get a new Garmin when my was broken in a bad accident…. Along with a few of my bones… 😬. I’m a bit disturbed by how much the too small aesthetics of the watch bugs me and wish I would have just bought another 245 because apparently aesthetics are more important to me that the altimeter and quick GPS pick up. 🤷🏻♀️

Good fitness tracking. Geared to runners vs. hikers, although it has a hiking profile I use. Pace does not work when going less than a mile an hour on strenuous trails. Sleep stages seem off sometimes. The manual is required to learn the many features and functions. Overall I find this a very useful watch for daily use, health/fitness tracking, and activity tracking. I like that I can manually pause it during an activity when stopped. I don't use the auto pause because it turns the tracking off when going slow.

This is my second Garmin forerunner. I put about 6000 miles on my first one and decided to get a more soffisticated watch fir the second one. This watch really helps you track a large amount of data about your running, sleeping and general well being. If infers suggestions on how to make your workouts as beneficial to you as possible. I am very pleased with my new 255s garmin forerunner. I am only about three weeks into using it and it is excellent. I hope to surpass the 6000 miles I put on my other forerunner. You can customize the watch face in a large variety of ways and it will show you only the things or items you want. OUTSTANDING!!
