  • Great watch.
Love this watch! It’s the best. I cycle everyday and it has a long battery life.

  • Great Smartwatch
So much better than my Apple Watch that needed charged every 24 hours. Everything is need and none of the stuff I don’t.

  • Great watch and training tool.
Excellent purchase. I love the Garmin features on this watch. I use it everyday to track sleep scores and other health parameters. I also use it four to five times a week to track my Surfski and outrigger canoe paddle workouts. I pair it with a chest strap HR monitor and I love the data that it provides. ... show more

  • The screen is plain dim.
The screen is nowhere near bright enigma at 100% brightness. The watch is unusable when you can't see the screen.

  • 2 month review -
I've worn this watch daily for about two months now - a couple observations: If I hadn't explicitly purchased a "refurbished" item, I wouldn't know that it wasn't brand new. It came in sealed packaging with all the listed accessories, had no signs of wear or use, and battery life was better than advertised. The 255 screen is a "MIP" screen - which looks a bit like green or brown e-ink. The screen is an always-on style that is extremely bright and legible, but has poor color fidelity and no touch functionality. Despite the lack of touch, the watch is still pretty easy to use once you memorize the buttons. You get five buttons on the side of the watch like a G-Shock or similar "tough" product - three on the left, two on the right. The buttons control watch face luminosity, up/down the app menu, a "start workout" button, and a "back" button. The exchange is strong battery life - I get two weeks between charges with 3 to 4 runs long (45+ minute) runs per week. If you're looking for a touch screen or AMOLED screen with better color fidelity, you want the 265 model - but be forewarned that you'll probably have a bit less battery life, less brightness under direct sunlight, and the touch/gesture controls on the 265 can be finicky. In terms of comfort, this is probably the most "comfortable" fitness wearable I've tried thus far (and I've long-term reviewed multiple Apple watches, multiple Amazfit bands, and a Whoop strap all within the last 3 years). The watch itself weighs next to nothing and the included band is equally light with a lot of flexibility and an uncommon amount of adjustability. I am a casual runner - 3 or 4 30-60 minute runs per week, 8 minute mile pace at the quickest and comfortable in the 11-12 minute mile pace for long/base runs. The GPS and HR tracking accuracy are better than I expected for my use case. Sleep tracking accuracy and "body battery", Garmin's trademarked total wellness variable, have both been pretty complimentary of my existing habits. Garmin's AI "coach" software supplies daily workout suggestions that have convinced me to get moving on days that I otherwise wouldn't have. It's worth noting that this software errs on the side of really high volume, even for beginner runners, and probably over-emphasizes the importance of base and zone 2 running. If you're absolutely just starting out as a runner and using this watch as a personal/motivational tool, I would stick to free beginner programs like Couch to 5K and give your body time to adjust to a running habit before committing to the Garmin AI coach's recommendations. If you're looking for a "smartwatch" and your primary goal with this accessory is not explicitly for tracking runs, bike rides, hikes, or swims, there are better experiences out there from brands like Apple and Samsung. If you're looking for a fitness wearable to get a better picture of your performance stats and overall health, there isn't a better option on the market that I've tried. ... show more

  • Received as expected
The watch arrived as described. It's refurbished and looks brand new. Its buttons work very well, and it's lightweight and comfortable for people with larger wrists. The price is right for the product. I'm satisfied.
