This cable by garmin works as it is expected to. I made the mistake and tried to order two different aftermarket cables on amazon. Neither of them fit meaning the connectors looked the same but were made of hard plastic and would not allow the two ends to mate up. They cable would not even connect into itself male to female. Keep in mind if you are trying to save a few dollars read the reviews first of the other brands. Everyone had the same issue as i did . I read the reviews after the second cable would not fit. Lesson learned. The Garmin brand mates perfect with a positive feeling connection that seals well and seems as if it will stay connected with no issues as well as disconnect when needed with no hassles.
