Features

  • FLIP N CATCH BUCKET LID: Our mouse trap is unlike the conventional mouse trap because it automatically resets after every capture and has the unique capability of trapping not only mice, but small to medium sized rats as well.
  • 100% SAFE MOUSETRAP: Ever get your finger caught trying to set or remove a dead mouse from a traditional mouse trap? It hurts! No spring-loaded parts to harm your children or pets and no more removing dead mice/rats. Easier to remove possible diseased rodents from your home or property.
  • EASY MOUSE/RAT BUCKET TRAP: It's very simple and easy to create a bucket mouse trap using a 5 gallon bucket, our innovative flip & slide lid and your choice of mouse/rat bait. Place the bait in the bucket, snap the lid on top, attach the 20 climbing ladder and let the rodent do the rest.
  • HUMANE MOUSE TRAP: Use indoor for home, work, garage or anywhere that rodents may be. Since this is a no-kill trap, you can use it indoors, outdoors, by the patio or pool, in the barn, workshop, chicken coop or garden without worrying about the odor of dead rats.
  • REUSABLE & PRACTICAL: This highly useful mouse trap lid can be used over and over just by simply removing the lid from the bucket, washing both lid and bucket, then reattaching them and you're ready. Turn a 5 gallon bucket into a trash bucket with lid for camping, trash can easily be put through the flip door which then closes automatically.

  • Work well, pretty easy to set up
We’ve been using these about a week. I put chunky peanut butter in the lid and taped it down using gaffer tape (per other reviews), and added bird seed in the bottom of the bucket also per the instructions and other reviews. On average, we get 2 mice per trap per night with 2 of the traps that are set up with the ramp propped up on a stair so it’s not as steep of a climb. The 3rd trap has been in the garage with the ramp on the floor - so far, we haven’t caught any with this set up and location and I know there are mice in there, so I moved it to the basement with the other and set the ramp on the stair. I don’t know if the ramps (plastic) are too slick and steep when they’re on the floor, but since I haven’t caught any in the garage I’ll try 2 traps in the basement. Other reviews mentioned the tight/ill fitting lids with buckets from Home Depot or Lowes. This was the case with the buckets we’re using from Menards. I found that I could get 3 of the 4 clasps the fit when putting the lid on with the bucket upright, but not the fourth no matter how hard I tried pushing the side of the lid inward. When I laid the bucket down and pressed on the bucket - sort of mushing it into the ground - I got the fourth to latch. I can see where if I pressed to hard or too quickly I could either break the bucket or the lid, but I did a slow, controlled press just firm enough to get the 4th clasp on the lid to latch correctly. The ramps are flimsy and not that well designed in my opinion, but at least when propped up on a stair they work well enough and haven’t collapsed (larger rodents would likely collapse them). After the first night of use I also found that mice had chewed away a pretty good portion of the black flap along the edge. I don’t know why or when this occurred (there were 2 mice in the bucket), but have not noticed this since or on the other buckets. I would recommend these for field and kangaroo mice with the caveat that they aren’t perfect, but they’re definitely working and easy to use. Each morning I release the mice into the forrest about 50 yards from the house (I’m not using water to drown the mice). I will update this after I clean them and have to remove the lids and reattach per my above description a few times to see if they’re durable. We have a mice problem, so I was hoping for several per night. I might have to up the amount of peanut butter to see if I can attract more mice. Stay tuned. ... show more

  • Great Idea but Poorly Made
Cons: Lids don’t fit standard five gallon buckets properly. Tried both the orange and blue buckets from L and HD. Very difficult to ever snap of bucket. Ramps won’t touch floor if snapped on lid as intended. Used duct tape to attach at top. Teeter board must be carefully positioned or it hangs and won’t dump mice into bucket. Even a tiny amount of peanut butter causes the teeter board to tilt downward. Had to stick it on top of lid over the board. No mice after three weeks in three buckets at different locations where there are known mice. Will put shredded cheese on ramp and top to try and lure mice onto teeter board. Probably back to trap for me. ... show more

  • Pros and Con
I have had this out for a week now. In that week I have learned that there are pros and cons to this. So if you want to find out how well it works, read on. There are 4 parts to the system: the lid, the flapper, the bait cap and the ladder (2 pieces). Pros: Safe for chickens Easy to use Has caught a lot of mice Comes in a 3 pack (at least the set I got) Ladder angle has some flexibility to it. Cons: Lids are a tad to small for a 5gallon bucket from Lowes, Home Depot or True Value. Only 3 hooks on the lid will fit the bucket so it is not a tight fight, but it works. The climbing ladder is two pieces that clip together in the middle. Anything bigger that a mouse, like a rat, will make the ladder collapse. The clip is an in and out, so it makes in rather flimsy. Getting the flapper in can be a little difficult at first. The bait cap come off rather easy. By morning I am doing a hunt for it, because whatever the mice didn’t eat, the chickens are now fighting over it. The ladder will collapse on occasion and is a tad to short. I usually need about 1/8” to a 1/2” piece of wood or rock to put under it to balance it right. I have lost one bait cap already. High winds will render this system useless. I have caught 30 mice overall in 4 days. I just dump the water by the chickens and they go nuts for the mice. I have 63 chickens, so much are inevitable, but it helps. 2 buckets still work. ... show more

  • Lid will fit
I just received so cannot speak to effectiveness. Several reviewers complained that lid did not. I discovered that there sre 4 clips on the lid, slide lid on so 3 clips grab edge of bucket. Using a screw driver press on forth clip and pry. It will now grab the bucket and fit snugly. I used some glue on the ramps where they connect. My experience with rodents is they will find a way to get to food. Place bucket near shelf or box and they will come. ... show more

  • It seems like its fine for mice but rats may never make it on top
The idea of these is great basically hide a little bait and little rodents climb up a small "ladder" where they can trip the trap and fall in. The problem is that included with the three bucket lids are three (2-piece) ladders. Now there's a place they secure to the lid but the issue is they connect in the center of the ladder at a steep angle. Understanding mice can climb a tree that isn't a real issue. I had some week-old chicks try to walk up the ladder on each of the buckets and two of the three fell apart. The chicks weigh next to nothing. The 3rd bent but held together to allow the chick to the lid. For now, I have a hole dug with the bucket inside so the lid is ground level to allow for larger rodents to go in. It seems to be working fine so far. Just don't bank on the little ladders if you have any larger rodents. I think it would work fine for house mice just not rats. ... show more

  • Tape the bait door.
Set up last night. Very easy set up. Looks promising. In the front of the cheese wedge is a click in door where you can add bait. Never would have thought this rat would work the door off instead of walking the plank. Stole the door. Luckily I bought a 3 pack. I'll be duct taping the door tonight.
